Role Overview We are seeking an experienced Logistics & Distribution Manager to oversee inbound and outbound transportation, retail fulfillment, and international freight operations across the U.S. and Europe. This role is responsible for ensuring timely, compliant delivery of bedding products to major retail partners and distribution channels while managing freight, brokerage, and third-party logistics providers. This is a hands-on leadership role requiring strong operational judgment, comfort working with large retail organizations, and direct experience managing international shipments and bulk outbound freight. You'll coordinate complex logistics operations across multiple geographies, manage carrier relationships, and ensure we meet our commitments to major retail partners while optimizing cost and service performance. Key Operational Scope:You'll own end-to-end logistics operations including inbound scheduling from international suppliers, outbound distribution to retail partners, international freight coordination with European operations, and 3PL/carrier management. You'll work closely with warehouse operations, customer service, sales, and purchasing teams to align delivery commitments and resolve logistics challenges in real time. Automation & Engineering Collaboration We operate a multi-faceted automation stack spanning Monday.com and n8n that we're actively scaling. You'll have the opportunity to contribute meaningfully to the evolution of automation inside the business, enable AI across your role, and provide input into the development of internal tools and resources. You'll collaborate directly with our engineering team and automations team to build out these capabilities. Goals & Responsibilities Inbound & Outbound Scheduling • Coordinate and schedule inbound and outbound shipments across domestic and international lanes, • Manage dock scheduling, carrier appointments, and delivery windows, • Optimize routing, consolidation, and load planning for bulky, high-volume bedding products, • Track and maintain accurate documentation for all inbound receipts and outbound shipments, • Analyze freight performance data to identify cost-saving opportunities and service improvements Retail Fulfillment & Compliance • Serve as primary logistics contact for major retail partners (e.g., national retail chains), • Ensure compliance with retailer routing guides, ASNs, labeling, and appointment requirements, • Monitor and resolve chargebacks, delivery exceptions, and service failures, • Proactively manage escalations and maintain strong relationships with retail logistics teams, • Coordinate with warehouse operations to meet retail delivery windows and order accuracy requirements International Freight & Brokerage • Oversee international shipments to and from Europe, including ocean and air freight, • Coordinate with freight forwarders, customs brokers, and overseas partners, • Ensure proper documentation, Incoterms alignment, customs clearance, and regulatory compliance, • Track international transit timelines and proactively manage delays or disruptions, • Maintain detailed records of international shipments and customs documentation Carrier & 3PL Management • Negotiate and manage relationships with carriers, brokers, and third-party logistics providers, • Monitor KPIs related to cost, on-time delivery, and service performance, • Support annual freight bid processes and continuous cost-improvement initiatives, • Maintain carrier scorecards and address performance issues Operational Leadership & Process Improvement • Develop and maintain logistics SOPs, performance metrics, and reporting dashboards, • Collaborate with sales, customer service, operations, and purchasing teams to align delivery commitments, • Drive continuous improvement in service reliability, cost efficiency, and scalability, • Log and track all logistics data systematically for analysis and reporting, • Potential to lead and mentor logistics coordinator(s) as operations scale Required Skills & Experience Core Experience (Required) • 3-7 years of experience in logistics, distribution, or supply chain management with demonstrated progression of responsibility, • Direct hands-on experience with retail fulfillment to large national chains (routing guides, ASNs, chargeback management), • Proven experience managing international freight forwarding and customs brokerage operations, • Strong track record coordinating inbound and outbound transportation scheduling, • Experience negotiating with and managing 3PL providers and carrier relationships, • Highly detail-oriented with strong documentation and record-keeping discipline, • Excellent organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills, • Comfortable working in a fast-paced environment managing competing retail partner deadlines and escalations Technical & Systems Skills • Proficiency with WMS, TMS, or ERP systems for logistics and inventory management, • Strong Excel skills for data analysis, tracking, and reporting, • Ability to build and maintain logistics dashboards and performance reports, • Comfortable learning new systems and operational tools quickly (Monday.com, n8n automation) Logistics & Supply Chain Knowledge • Strong working knowledge of ocean and air freight operations, • Understanding of Incoterms, customs regulations, and international trade compliance, • Experience with LTL, FTL, and parcel carrier management, • Familiarity with retail compliance requirements and chargeback mitigation strategies Leadership & Collaboration • Ability to work cross-functionally with warehouse, sales, customer service, and purchasing teams, • Strong relationship-building skills with retail partners and external logistics providers, • Proactive problem-solving mindset with ownership mentality, • Ability to influence without direct authority and drive results through collaboration Bonus Qualifications • Experience shipping bulky consumer goods (furniture, bedding, home goods) or branded products, • Prior exposure to European distribution lanes and international operations, • Familiarity with Magento or multi-brand e-commerce platforms, • Background in retail, consumer goods, or hospitality-related products, • Deep passion for AI and
