Who We're Looking For • Experience hiring, developing and managing hospitality teams, • Experience managing inventory and supply chain ordering, • Love for coffee and customer service, • Experience working in a unionized environment is a plus, • Strong knowledge of specialty coffee, espresso and equipment is a must, • Strong decision making and multi-taking skills, • Strong interpersonal communication skills What You'll Own • Create a motivating and engaging team culture by consistently celebrating, training, coaching, and mentoring your team., • Step in to cover scheduling gaps or time off in the store schedule, • Create and publish staff schedules according to state and local labor laws, • Review and approve timecards and paid time off requests in a timely manner ensuring your team is paid accurately and on time, • Recruit super star talent in collaboration with the People Team, • Oversee and validate the quality of training being executed by your Shift Leads, providing feedback and coaching where needed, • Ensure coffee accreditations are handled on time for new employees in line with company standards, • Work to maintain the very best team engagement scores, • Maintain food and beverage quality standards across your store and ensure recipes are executed accurately and consistently by your team, • Own all ordering, vendor relations, waste management, inventory counts and general compliance of our Inventory Management System, • Spend 50-70% of your week leading by example behind the bar through customer service and production of technically excellent food and beverage products, • Ensure the safety, cleanliness and presentation of your location in line with company policies, • Maintain operational excellence achieving company standard scores and above via our auditing platform, • Develop meaningful ties with neighborhood businesses and people to help grow local brand loyalty, • Be a champion of your store's financial performance and peak business throughput, • Grow your store AOV, meet sales goals through creative initiatives and gain team buy in to share the same vision, • Ensure your location meets operations and product quality audit standards, quickly action any feedback to improve Requirements • 4+ years of experience managing and leading single-store unit operations in high growth hospitality or consumer brands, • Full Time availability: 45 hours per week, 5 days of availability required and must be available to work 2 peak days (usually weekend days, weekend as described as Friday, Saturday, Sunday) Benefits & Perks • $65,000 - $75,000 annual salary Blank Street, in good faith, believes that the posted salary range is accurate for this role in NYC at the time of posting. Van Leeuwen Ice Cream is seeking a Senior Accounting Manager to join its growing Finance team. Reporting to the Controller, this role will be helping to build the processes around core accounting operations while ensuring accuracy, efficiency, and consistency across all workflows. The Senior Accounting Manager will own critical components of the monthly close and key areas including revenue, COGS, A/R, A/P and general ledger activity. This is a highly hands-on role, ideal for someone who can seamlessly shift between high-level technical strategy and detailed execution in a fast paced, lean environment. This role will be based out of our Williamsburg, Brooklyn office and follow Van Leeuwen's hybrid work model and be in office three days a week. Job Responsibilities • Daily Accounting Operations, • Manage and execute core accounting activities including journal entries, account reconciliations, and general ledger maintenance, • A/P Management, • Oversee accounts payable processes, including invoice processing, vendor management, and payment runs, • A/R Management, • Manage accounts receivable, including billing, collections, and cash application, • Month-End Close, • Support and help drive the monthly close process, ensuring accuracy, completeness, and timeliness across all assigned areas, • Inventory & COGS Support, • Assist with inventory accounting, cost tracking, and reconciliation processes in partnership with the Controller and Operations, • Process Improvement, • Provide recommendations to the Controller to improve internal controls, automate manual workflows, and build out the accounting tech stack, • Reconciliations & Controls, • Prepare and maintain balance sheet reconciliations, • Support internal controls and documentation, • Participate in monthly balance sheet reviews with the Controller and CFO, • Audit Support, • Assist with audit preparation, documentation, and coordination with external auditors., • Cross-Functional Collaboration, • Work closely with FP&A, Operations, Supply Chain and other teams to ensure accurate data flow and financial reporting Job Requirements • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field (CPA strongly preferred), • 5 to 8+ years of progressive accounting experience, • Experience in CPG, food & beverage, multi-unit retail, or manufacturing is a plus, • Strong experience with A/P, A/R, general ledger, and month-end close processes, • Hands-on experience with NetSuite or similar ERP systems, • Deep understanding of U.S. GAAP, inventory/accounting principle, multi-unit environments, • High attention to detail and strong organizational skills, • Startup DNA: comfortable with ambiguity.
