Job Description Fire Sprinkler Systems Designer Sprinkler Design Engineer –Fire Alarm Design- Fire Protection Design- Fire Suppression Our client specializes in the design and implementation of fire protection and life-safety systems across commercial, industrial, and institutional projects and is looking to add an experienced Systems Designer to the engineering team, with strong technical design experience (Fire Sprinkler and/or Fire Alarm) and excellent communications skills. Responsibilities • Develop detailed sprinkler system layouts and design drawings in compliance with NFPA standards, building codes, and local jurisdiction requirements., • Perform hydraulic calculations and system sizing to ensure proper performance., • Prepare fabrication drawings, stock lists, technical submittals, and material takeoffs., • Produce accurate and efficient designs using programs such as AutoCAD, Revit, AutoSPRINK, SprinkCAD, HydraCAD, HydraCALC, and HydraLIST., • Work with architects, MEP engineers, contractors, and AHJs to ensure code-compliant and constructible designs., • Review contract documents, specifications, and site conditions to determine project requirements., • Support project managers in design scheduling, budgeting, and progress tracking., • Assist during construction by reviewing shop drawings, responding to RFIs, and conducting site visits as required., • Provide accurate as-built drawings and support final inspections., • Collaborate closely with engineers and project managers to deliver coordinated fire protection solutions., • Associate’s degree in Drafting/Design Technology or related field required., • Bachelor’s in Mechanical or Fire Protection Engineering a plus., • 5–10 years of proven experience designing fire sprinkler and/or fire alarm systems., • NICET Level II or higher in Water-Based Systems Layout a plus, • Strong knowledge of NFPA standards, International Building/Fire Codes, and local codes., • Proficiency in software programs such as AutoCAD, Revit, AutoSPRINK, SprinkCAD, HydraCAD, HydraCALC, and HydraLIST., • Strong understanding of hydraulic calculations, pipe sizing, and material specifications., • Ability to read and coordinate with architectural, structural, and MEP drawings., • Strong communication and organizational abilities., • Capable of managing multiple projects and deadlines with attention to detail. *Competitive compensation commensurate with experience, medical & dental insurance; life insurance and voluntary life insurance; long-term disability insurance; 401(k) retirement plan with company match, paid holidays, and PTO days. * Alex Showers Liberty Personnel Services #Engineering #Midsenior Key Words: Sprinkler Designer, Fire Alarm, Fire Protection, Fire Sprinkler Design, AutoCAD, Design software, Revit, HydraCAD, HydraCALC, and HydraLIST AutoSPRINK, SprinkCAD, NICET Certification, NFPA
