Schedule & Location: It is anticipated that an incumbent in this role will work on-site in Las Vegas, NV. Monday Through Friday From, 8:00 am- 4:30 pm PST or 10:00 am To 6:30 pm, Pacific Standard Time. Job Description: The Pharmacy Inventory Technician is responsible for the accurate accounting of inventory including buying, receiving, processing, recording, distributing drug supplies and materials and maintenance of pharmacy inventory. This includes the management of the Company’s pump fleet. The Pharmacy Inventory Technician will also perform designated technical and clerical tasks associated with the preparation, labeling and dispensing of medications, including prepackaged or unit dose drugs, pharmacy quality control, management of pharmacy records, and preparation of orders for drugs. All functions are under the direct supervision of a Pharmacist. QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS • High School Diploma or GED required, • Current and valid Pharmacy Technician Certification in good standing and issued by state in which duties are performed required, • Minimum of one (1) year of experience in retail/hospital pharmacy/ infusion specialty pharmacy required, • Minimum of one (1) year of pharmacy inventory management experience required, • Strong customer service skills, focus and dedication, • Basic computer and internet skills (e.g. Microsoft Office) QUALIFICATIONS PREFERRED • Graduate of pharmacy technical college preferred, • National certification by Pharmacy Technician Certification Board preferred, • Knowledge of CareTend preferred ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS AND RESPONSIBILITIES • Cycle count pharmacy Inventory, • Stocking of inventory (Put order away each morning) and pulling of owes each morning, • Remove outdates from shelf for return, • Restock shelves from over stock shelves (including refrigerator), • Go through returns and mark bottles that returns are available, • Process returns to vendors; maintain established return-to-stock procedures, • Checking pre-packs in automation so they can be put on the shelves, • Checking out dates and ensure all drugs have a label, • Accurately enters new product and supply inventory into Caretend and maintains appropriate drug and supply inventory levels., • Generates labels, picks, and packages prepackaged and unit dose drugs in accordance with dispensing order (pick-list)., • Notifies pharmacist of new prescriptions for subsequent patient orders, • Accepts product and supply deliveries, unpacks, verifies accuracy of order and forwards packing information to accounts payable department, • Monitors shipments to confirm delivery; scans delivery tickets into system, • Files delivery tickets, order forms and prescriptions in an efficient, timely manner, • Performs and records quality assurance activities, • Maintains medication, ancillaries and supplies inventory levels to company goals; rotates stock and utilizes return process, • Ensures pharmacy area is clean and maintained per organizational policy and procedure, • Attends QMC meetings on a quarterly basis and provides input, • Ability to prioritize and handle multiple tasks and projects concurrently., • Must have scheduling flexibility and be able to work overtime when necessary., • Careful attention to detail., • Performs related duties as requested., • Quality minded; motivated to seek out errors and inquire when something appears inaccurate, • Excellent interpersonal and organizational skills., • Excellent verbal, written, and communication skills., • Ability to prioritize, multi-task and manage multiple responsibilities in a fast-paced environment., • Ability to focus on detail, be task-oriented with commitment to accuracy and risk reduction., • Ability to work cooperatively with the pharmacist and other pharmacy operations staff., • Oral Communication - Speaks clearly and persuasively in positive or negative situations; listens and gets clarification; Responds well to questions; Demonstrates group presentation skills; Participates in meetings., • This position requires constant sitting and standing with occasional walking, kneeling or stooping., • This position requires the use of hands to finger, handle or feel objects and the ability to reach with hands and arms., • This position requires constant talking and hearing., • Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision and the ability to adjust focus., • This position must occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds, • Required to move/lift delivery boxes.
