Job DescriptionJob Title: Maintenance Technician Job Description The Maintenance Technician works in a valve shop environment, performing mechanical and electrical maintenance, assembly, troubleshooting, and repair of equipment and systems. This role supports both in-shop operations and occasional field work to ensure reliable and safe performance of valves and related components. Responsibilities • Perform mechanical maintenance, assembly, and repair of valves and related equipment in a shop environment., • Troubleshoot mechanical and electrical issues using hand tools, test equipment, and schematics to identify root causes and implement effective solutions., • Install, adjust, and commission valves and associated components, including pneumatic and electrical systems., • Read and interpret mechanical and electrical schematics, blueprints, and technical drawings to guide installation, repair, and assembly work., • Use a variety of hand tools and power tools safely and effectively for construction, assembly, and repair tasks., • Inspect equipment and components to identify wear, damage, or potential failures and perform corrective maintenance as needed., • Support field work as required, traveling to customer or project sites to perform maintenance, installation, and troubleshooting., • Follow established safety procedures, lockout/tagout practices, and shop protocols to maintain a safe working environment., • Document work performed, including parts used, repairs completed, and test results, in accordance with company standards., • Collaborate with team members and supervisors to prioritize tasks, meet project deadlines, and support continuous improvement efforts.Essential Skills, • Hands-on mechanical experience in maintenance, assembly, and repair of industrial equipment or valves., • Ability to troubleshoot mechanical and electrical issues using a systematic and logical approach., • Proficiency in reading and interpreting mechanical and electrical schematics and blueprints., • Experience working with pneumatic systems, including installation, adjustment, and repair., • Skilled in the safe use of hand tools and basic power tools for construction, assembly, and maintenance tasks., • Basic electrical knowledge related to installation, troubleshooting, and repair of equipment., • Strong attention to detail and commitment to performing high-quality, accurate work., • Ability to work both independently and as part of a team in a shop and field environment.Additional Skills & Qualifications, • Background in both mechanical and electrical disciplines., • Experience working in an industrial shop, valve shop, or similar maintenance environment., • Ability to interpret technical documentation and follow written and verbal instructions., • Willingness to support occasional field work in addition to shop-based duties., • Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to adapt to changing priorities.Why Work Here? Job Type & Location This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Chattanooga, TN. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $20.00 - $30.00/hr.
