You will lead by example, assisting the teams as necessary and promoting positivity and team work. Although you will be present for evening shifts, you will have flexibility in your schedule to be present at various F&B functions to maximize the guest experience. Primary Duties & Responsibilities • Oversee and coordinate the operation, planning, organizing, training and leadership necessary to achieve revenue and cost goals, • Responsible for daily operations, which may include restaurant, bar, and banquet operations, • Ensure high level of customer service and satisfaction and professionalism is maintained throughout the departments, • In charge of creating and posting employee schedules, ensuring fairness and efficiency, • Review weekly departmental payroll reports and complete required payroll tasks, • Effectively delegate job responsibility for an strategic focus on the operations, • Communicate with management across the hotel to ensure effective operations and to exceed guest and/ or client expectations, • Work with the Director of Food & Beverage to set targets and incentives to increase revenues, profitability and employee satisfaction in the restaurant, • Visually inspect outlets and/ or event spaces for cleanliness and any maintenance needs, • Conduct regular beverage and food training with the staff, • Maintain an accurate inventory of the goods and products, taking special note of the alcoholic beverages, • Abide by all company and state guidelines regarding safe food handling and the sales and service of alcoholic beverages Carry out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization’s policies and applicable laws. Responsibilities include training employees; directing work; appraising performance; addressing complaints and resolving problems; maintaining harmony among workers. Directly supervises the following staff: • Bar & Billiards Room Staff Education/ Experience: • High school diploma or equivalent required, • Post Graduate or Degree in Hospitality or equivalent preferred, • Two to four years of management experience in previous fine-dining establishments, including successful history with beverage/ wine, profit margins, and operating costs required, • Two to four years of banquets supervisory experience in a large-scale catering environment preferred, • TABC Server Permit required within 60 days of hire, • Proven management and leadership skills, • Excellent communication skills with guests, team members, and management, • Proficiency in restaurant POS, inventory, hotel PMS and Sales and Events applications, • Excellent organization, prioritization, and time management skills, • Budget, forecast, and cost control experience, • Promote cooperation to work among team members and others, • Ability to frequently lift, carry, push, pull, or otherwise move up to 50 pounds and occasionally lift, carry, push, pull, or otherwise move up to 75 pounds, • See clearly both near and far (to detect cleanliness and discrepancies), • Hear at a basic level and communicate with coworkers and guests, • Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals, • Ability to stand for extended periods of time, sometimes more than 8 hours, • Ability to traverse all food and beverage service areas, • Ability to apply commonsense understanding to carry out instructions, • Ability to work well under high-stress conditions with changing variables, • The work environment includes high guest contact; may involve varying conditions and circumstances with guests, staff, visitors, etc., • Ability to work varied shift lengths including early morning events, late night events, and weekends The Read House: The Roaring '20s are alive and prosperous in Chattanooga at the Historic Read House Hotel.
