We’re equipped to handle complex cases and urgent medical situations that go beyond the capabilities or hours of primary care veterinarians. We're currently seeking a skilled and confident Outpatient Veterinary Assistant or Veterinary Technician to join our dynamic team. This is not an entry-level opportunity. We’re looking for candidates with a strong foundation in veterinary medicine, who are calm under pressure, quick on their feet, and passionate about delivering high-quality care in urgent and emergent situations. • Role: Outpatient Veterinary Assistant or Veterinary Technician (ER Support), • Type: Full-Time, Set Schedule, • Schedule: Wednesday, Thursday, Saturday & Sunday | 5:00 PM – 3:00 AM (EST), • Assist in triage and treatment of outpatient and emergency cases, • Perform or support venipuncture, IV catheter placement, and blood draws, • Administer medications via IV, IM, and SQ routes under DVM supervision, • Monitor and manage IV fluid therapy, including pump operation and line maintenance, • Use medical math to calculate drug dosages, fluid rates, and nutrition plans, • Safely restrain animals for exams, treatments, and emergency procedures, • Assist in emergency surgeries, CPR, and crisis situations as needed, • Maintain patient comfort through routine care (walks, feeding, hygiene), • Accurately enter patient data into EMRs and treatment logs, • Collaborate with a multi-disciplinary team of ER doctors, specialists, and support staff, • A minimum of 2 year of clinical veterinary experience (emergency, general practice, or specialty), • Strong clinical skills, particularly in emergency or fast-paced settings, • Ability to multi-task, prioritize, and remain calm under pressure, • Excellent communication skills and team-first attitude, • Comfort with veterinary software and EMRsPreferred Qualifications:, • Licensed Veterinary Technician (LVT or LVMT) in Tennessee – strongly preferred, • Proven ability in:, • Venipuncture and IV catheter placement, • Medication administration (IV, IM, SQ), • IV fluid management and pump operation, • Medical calculations for dosing and fluids, • Triage and outpatient case support, • Work in a collaborative, high-performing emergency hospital, • Learn from board-certified specialists and experienced ER doctors, • Expand your clinical skills in emergency medicine, diagnostics, surgery, and critical care, • Thrive in a culture that values teaching, teamwork, and growth, • Competitive hourly pay based on experience and credentials, • Medical, dental, and vision insurance, • Life, accident, and disability coverage, • Mental health & wellness support through Employee Assistance Program (EAP), • Continuing Education (CE) allowance, • State license reimbursement for LVTs, • National career network for advancement opportunities, • Paid time off and holiday pay, • Modern facility with in-house diagnostics, surgical suites, ICU, and more
