Job Description Job Title: Insulation Technician Job Description The Insulation Technician installs and maintains insulation in residential and commercial buildings, ensuring energy efficiency, comfort, and safety. This role involves working with various insulation materials and tools, preparing surfaces, and completing installations in a wide range of interior spaces, including attics, walls, basements, and crawl spaces. Responsibilities • Install insulation in residential and commercial buildings using spray foam, rigid foam boards, fiberglass, and other insulation materials., • Insulate attics, walls, basements, crawl spaces, and other interior residential and commercial areas to improve energy efficiency and comfort., • Measure and cut insulation materials accurately to fit specific spaces and structural dimensions., • Seal and prepare surfaces thoroughly before insulation installation to ensure proper adhesion and performance., • Set up insulation work areas, including plastic containment and protective barriers, as needed., • Operate tools and equipment safely, including blowers, sprayers, spray guns, cutting tools, hand tools, and power tools., • Remove old insulation when necessary and handle, transport, and dispose of materials in a safe and compliant manner., • Assist with related construction tasks such as basic flooring preparation, drywall-related sealing, and general installation work as required., • Work in confined spaces and at heights while following all safety procedures and guidelines., • Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area, including proper storage and care of tools and equipment., • Follow detailed instructions, project plans, and safety protocols to complete each job accurately and on schedule., • Communicate effectively with team members to coordinate tasks and ensure high-quality insulation installations. Essential Skills • Minimum of 2+ years of hands-on experience installing insulation in attics, walls, basements, crawl spaces, and other residential areas., • Proficiency in working with spray foam, rigid foam boards, fiberglass, and other common insulation materials., • Ability to measure and cut insulation materials precisely to fit specific spaces and structural layouts., • Skill in sealing and preparing surfaces before insulation installation to ensure effective coverage and performance., • Experience operating blowers, sprayers, spray guns, cutting tools, hand tools, and power tools safely and efficiently., • Experience insulation or construction environments, with practical installation experience., • Ability to work safely in confined spaces and at heights while following safety protocols., • Strong attention to detail and commitment to safety in all aspects of the job., • Physical stamina to lift heavy materials and perform manual labor in various interior conditions and weather-related temperatures., • Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation to travel to job sites. Additional Skills & Qualifications • General construction experience, including basic installation work and site preparation., • Familiarity with HVAC-related environments and how insulation supports heating and cooling efficiency., • Experience with flooring preparation and related construction tasks in interior spaces., • Exposure to drywall work, particularly sealing and insulating around wall systems., • Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to adapt to different building layouts and site conditions., • Effective communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively as part of a crew., • Reliable, punctual, and able to follow instructions and project timelines.
