Job Description ABOUT THE COMPANY: Groundwork Operations, LLC provides general and specialized Crew to set-up and break-down indoor and outdoor events throughout New York City, New Jersey, Philadelphia, and Boston areas. Our team works projects of all sizes, from small events that a single Crew Member can set up on their own, to large scale events such as the NY Marathon where we have dozens of shifts available on a daily basis for several weeks. JOB DESCRIPTION: This job is gig-based. You are applying for the opportunity to be included in our database of Crew Members who are offered individual shifts based on the varying, seasonal needs of the Clients we serve. Many events will require you to work overnights + weekends. Whether you are interested in pursuing a career in Event Production, or are simply seeking a flexible work schedule or supplemental income, this job can be a great fit. In addition to seasoned Event Production professionals, our current crew roster includes artists, content creators, graphic designers, students, and entrepreneurs with a wide range of life experiences and personal pursuits. Some Crew Members work a single shift a year, while others work 40+ hour weeks during our busy season. Motivated crew members will have more consistent work opportunities, access to additional training, increased responsibilities, and pay raises. RESPONSIBILITIES: Include, but are not limited to: loading + unloading trucks; distribution + collection of materials; set-up + break-down of tents, tables, chairs + barricades; installation + dismantle of signage + hardware structures; packaging + palletizing; trash removal. Job descriptions + assignments vary from shift to shift. NOTE: On our crew, truck drivers tackle all of the same physical tasks as general crew members, this is not a driving only position. Those seeking to sit behind a wheel all day without getting their hands dirty need not apply. Job Description POSITION SUMMARY City Parks Education has operated interdisciplinary environmental education programs in schools and parks since 1992. The Coastal Classroom program focuses on coastal ecology, water quality, urban waterfront restoration and preservation on the NYC waterfront, with current sites in Inwood Hill Park in Manhattan, Bushwick Inlet Park and Kaiser Park in Brooklyn, and Socrates Sculpture Park/Hallet's Cove in Queens. During the school year, the Coastal Classroom Program Manager manages and implements after-school programming for up to 25 middle school students at each of 4 locations, using site-specific inquiry-based lessons to stimulate meaningful learning experiences in their own communities. In the summer season, the Coastal Classroom Program Manager will manage and implement the program at one of our two sites: Hallets Cove, Long Island City or Kaiser Park in Coney island. City Parks Foundation (CPF) seeks an experienced environmental educator with a background in marine science and on-water recreation to provide instruction and guidance to middle school students and paid interns under the supervision of the Senior Manager of STEM Pathways. The successful candidate will have a strong knowledge base in aquatic ecosystems and shoreline ecology as well as at least one or two years of experience in delivering instruction to and working with adolescents in an educational setting.
