Job Description This is an onsite position, located in Wasco, CA. This position is not eligible for remote work. Job Summary: The Accounting Supervisor oversees various accounting functions to ensure accuracy and compliance with policies and procedures. This role includes supervising general ledger maintenance, managing fixed assets, accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll, financial reporting, and other related tasks. The Accounting Supervisor works closely with the Director of Finance to ensure smooth departmental operations. Essential Job Duties Include, but are not limited to: • Oversee the maintenance of the general ledger and ensure compliance with accounting standards., • Initiate recording of acquisitions and disposals, oversee depreciation expense calculations, and validate ROI for new CAPEX investments., • Oversee recording of invoices, vendor payments, and reconciliations; manage sales tax payments, accrued expenses, open PO monitoring, and material receiving; review and oversee ageing AP management., • Initiate and review recording of invoices and payments; oversee accounts reconciliation and AR management; review and oversee ageing AR management., • Initiate and approve bank reconciliations., • Record and approve payroll journal vouchers; oversee employee benefits payments and reconciliations., • Initiate and approve accounting closing checklists; oversee KPI reporting, FS reporting, board decks, and quarterly valuations., • Prepare weekly cashflow forecasts and oversee cashflow management., • Initiate, review, and approve expenses monitoring and reconciliations., • Initiate and oversee reconciliation and recalculation of finance charges; monitor covenants., • Initiate and review flock costing, weekly feed costing & pricing, and indirect costs allocation; oversee costing management., • Manage and control budgeting processes; initiate and approve departmental budget templates, compile budget reports, and control budgets., • Initiate and approve environmental filings, business property filings, and oversee K1 filings., • Act as the main liaison for external audits and oversee audit processes., • Initiate and approve new accounting processes and modifications to existing processes., • Oversee and approve ERP and system management., • Initiate and submit responses to stakeholder requests and inquiries., • Adhere to the highest standards of ethics, integrity, and credibility., • Lead by example, stepping in when necessary to keep operation moving., • Escalate issues as appropriate and in a timely fashion to ensure information is shared effectively., • Provide direct daily supervision of assigned direct reports to ensure accuracy and adherence to pertinent policies, practices, and procedures (SOPs, safety procedures, and biosafety protocols), • Prioritize and schedule the workload of assigned direct reports., • Work effectively with Human Resources to ensure recruiting and staffing practices are consistent with company policy and labor laws., • Assist in interviewing and selecting qualified personnel within your areas of responsibility. Assist in developing recommendations regarding personnel action, including hiring., • Identify the training and development needs of direct reports. Assist in developing, implementing, and delivering training programs of direct reports., • Partner with Human Resources to assist in handling disciplinary issues and drafting the appropriate personnel action documents., • Responsible for ensuring that all direct reports are trained on each essential job function for their positions, the training is effective, and an appropriate training record has been documented for each essential job function., • Responsible for documenting training records of all tasks, policies, processes, and procedures that an employee is trained on., • Monitor and document the performance of direct reports. Assist and provide regular coaching and counseling., • Schedule overtime as authorized. Review timecards and manage the coordination of vacation/time off schedules., • Assist in the communication, training, execution, and maintenance of departmental SOPs and job descriptions., • Serve as a role model to subordinates regarding effective time management, communication, and utilization of resources, and provide leadership and motivation to department personnel., • Ensure that direct reports complete their timesheet daily and submit a completed timecard for approval on the last day worked each workweek., • Ensure that direct reports resolve all timecard, attestation, and payroll-related matters and complete the attestation on the last day worked each workweek., • Ensure that direct reports have regular, consistent, and predictable attendance per Central Valley Eggs attendance and punctuality policy., • Regular, consistent, and predictable attendance per Central Valley Eggs attendance and punctuality policy., • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field., • CPA/ CMA or equivalent certification preferred. Experience and Qualifications: • 5+ years’ experience in the accounting and finance sector., • Strong knowledge of accounting principles and practices., • Proficiency in accounting software and ERP systems., • Power BI experience preferred, • Strong leadership and supervisory skills., • Bilingual in English and Spanish, both written and verbal proficiency, preferred., • Proficiency with basic computer software (Microsoft Office applications). Physical Requirements: • Ability to meet physical requirements of the job, including long periods of standing, bending, or sitting., • Occasionally stoop/crouch/bend/climb/push/pull objects to complete the essential functions of this position., • Vision sufficient to safely perform the essential job tasks, including working with a computer., • Hearing sufficient to safely perform the essential job tasks, to identify safety hazards, and to identify malfunctioning equipment., • Physical ability to reach or work above or below shoulder level., • Physical ability to lift 40 lbs. routinely., • Ability to work in an office setting, with periodic travel to company sites as required.
