Job Description Shift: 2nd Shift (3:00PM - 11:30PM), Monday – Friday Facility & Location: Ketema, El Cajon, CA Elevate What Flies At Zenix Aerospace™, we unite decades of know-how across eight strategic locations in the US, UK, and Southeast Asia. As a trusted supplier on major fuel‑efficient commercial narrowbody platforms, we design and deliver high‑technology structural airframe and engine components that help aircraft and space systems operate safely, reliably, and efficiently. Our future‑focused approach to digital innovation, quality, and safety powers consistent excellence—together, we are elevating aerospace. About Zenix Aerospace Ketema Our Ketema site supports leading aircraft and turbine engine manufacturers, and produces precision components for space, marine, and ground‑based applications. We specialize in complex fabrications and machined parts from titanium and nickel alloys. A day in this role At 3:00 PM you step onto the floor, review the work order, and confirm material, dimensions, and tolerances. You plan the sequence of operations for a complex part, choosing the right fixturing and tooling for 3–5 axis CNC equipment—lathe, mill, VTL, or a modified dual‑head mill—so the job flows safely and efficiently. You mount, align, and secure the fixture and workpiece, verifying centering and indicating. With the machine set, you dial in feeds, speeds, depth of cut, and coolant flow. You run a test, check dimensions against blueprints and GD&T callouts (true position, circularity), and make precise adjustments. If automatic programming or a controller hiccups, you troubleshoot and correct course using your knowledge of Fanuc or Mazak controls. Throughout the shift, you monitor gauges and indicators, keep coolant and positioning in spec, and perform routine maintenance. You validate results with calipers, micrometers, and bar gauges to ensure conformity. You wrap up by cleaning tooling, parts, and the surrounding area per 5S, and you feed improvement ideas into our Continuous Improvement pipeline.
