Where We Are Located: Treehouse is located in an urban area with an ever-changing unhoused population who may be experiencing addiction, mental illness, PTSD, or other barriers to stability. Those working or volunteering at Treehouse must be comfortable navigating the area safely and respectfully during arrival, departure, and breaks. While this position does not involve providing direct services to the surrounding community, staff may encounter individuals in the immediate vicinity of the building. Employees are not expected to respond to emergencies or intervene outside the scope of their job duties. Job Summary: The Material Resources team ensures youth in foster care have access to the essential items they need to be prepared for school and life. As part of the Store team, the Store Retail Coordinator serves as a mission-driven, equity-centered staff member who contributes regularly to advance the organization’s commitment to anti-racism, social justice, and belonging. The Store Coordinator helps oversee daily operations in Treehouse’s free retail space and statewide online order fulfillment. The Store Retail Coordinator works directly with Treehouse staff, donors, volunteers, and clients to help ensure the needs of the youth we serve are met, aligning programmatic and operational goals through a culturally responsive and inclusive approach with acknowledgement of the trauma experienced by youth in care. The Store Retail Coordinator seeks to help dismantle systemic inequities, promote psychological safety, engage in equitable practices across systems, and contribute to an organizational culture rooted in dignity, accountability, and care in service of the youth that Treehouse supports. Creative, detail-oriented, and personable, the Store Retail Coordinator plans proactively for seasonal demand, helps train and oversee volunteers, and coordinates both the online and in-person shopping experience. Essential Duties and Responsibilities: Individual Functions: • Greet clients in an inclusive and welcoming manner, check program eligibility, and accurately document shopping visits into the client management system., • Provide shopping guidelines, answer questions, and clearly communicate the schedule and limits as needed to clients and those who accompany them., • Train and work with volunteers to ensure daily activities are completed, such as stocking, merchandising, and online order fulfillment., • Monitor the Store’s physical and emotional environment to help ensure that clients have a safe, positive, and respectful shopping experience, inclusive of all racial and gender identities, and with awareness of the trauma experienced by youth in care and historically marginalized communities., • Embrace transformation by seeking out perspectives across the organization and with partner organizations and communities to evolve how Treehouse serves youth with curiosity and openness to new ideas., • Maintain the presentation of the Store, including merchandising displays, seasonal inventory rotation, and updated signage. Identify and communicate daily priorities to volunteers., • Coordinate the donation, handling, and distribution of tickets in an equitable manner to local events and attractions that are available to Treehouse clients as part of Treehouse’s retail operations., • Maintain the easily accessible online ordering form for clients to request items via mail or pick-up., • Ensure timely processing and delivery of all online orders., • Provide excellent customer service to caregivers and youth accessing Store services, including incorporating de-escalation, conflict resolution, culturally-sensitive, and compassionate support to those who have experienced trauma or may be experiencing crisis., • Collaborate with the team to build long-term, respectful partnerships with Tribal Nations and Indigenous-led organizations to ensure items offered to Indigenous youth are culturally grounded and community-informed., • Engage in ongoing education and reflection to strengthen Treehouse’s ability to support the growth, success, and well-being of the Black youth we serve., • Help establish and maintain an environment where clients, volunteers, and staff are able to engage positively and respectfully., • Help oversee volunteer activities including providing orientations to the space/team, training on new tasks, offering support throughout a volunteer shift, engaging in relationship-building, and modeling dignity, accountability, and care., • Ensure accurate and timely data recording of client visits and inventory records., • Help collect inclusive, culturally diverse stories, testimonials, and client feedback regularly to inform Store marketing and outreach strategies., • Serve as a liaison between the Store and other Treehouse programs, answering questions and communicating seasonal resources., • Help oversee groups of volunteers in daily or seasonal projects., • Provide tours of the Store and share information about all Treehouse services and programs., • Engage in collaborative workload planning to help create and maintain manageable workloads, supporting team members in programmatic activities and helping adjust priorities through open dialogue, feedback, and transparent decision-making to ensure equitable service to clients., • Practice abundance by working with Store team members to help steward resources thoughtfully, leveraging partnerships and sharing excess resources with other nonprofits when possible., • May be required to perform other duties as assigned and take on new tasks or adjust current responsibilities to align with Treehouse's mission and support continuous improvement. Requirements: Qualifications: • Two years' experience in customer service role., • Experience with logistics, inventory coordination, and/or online fulfillment strongly preferred., • Must satisfy Washington State and national criminal background requirements for working with youth and vulnerable adults., • Ability to drive the company cargo van in the Seattle metro area., • Ability and aptitude with Microsoft O365 and other technology necessary for successful day-to-day functioning in a business environment., • Intermediate proficiency in Excel, including functions such as VLOOKUP, pivot tables, conditional formatting, and data validation., • Working knowledge of WordPress and Gravity Forms preferred., • Ability to set boundaries and utilize support services to manage the personal impact of working with young people who have been placed at risk., • Ability and aptitude with online database systems to maintain records and data to support effective evaluation processes and analysis., • Demonstrated ability to stay calm under pressure and help de-escalate situations when necessary. Must be able to engage in a compassionate manner with individuals seeking resources while in crisis., • Ability to navigate physical environments in which individuals experiencing homelessness and/or addiction may be encountered., • Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to communicate successfully through multiple platforms, • Demonstrated ability to build and sustain working relationships with individuals of various ages, cultures, socioeconomic backgrounds, and abilities., • Deep commitment to racial equity and social justice and the ability to effectively engage in candid conversations about diversity, equity, inclusion, and justice., • Full-time position., • Expected hours: Tuesday–Saturday, 8:30 am – 4:30 pm, and occasional Mondays., • Occasional regional travel during working hours., • Physical Requirements – long periods of stationary work, working on a computer, moving between various work areas, going up and down stairs, talking on the phone, interfacing with a computer/office equipment, and sitting at a desk or table while listening, talking, and taking notes.
