Job Description Become a Certified School Security Professional. At Cardinal Point, you’re a vital part of a school community protecting students and staff. We are currently hiring Unarmed School Security Officers who will cultivate positive relationships with students. Location: Norristown, PA Pay Rate: $18.00 per hour, with the chance for an increase based on longevity and performance Schedule: • Monday to Friday, first shift, • Schedule includes after-school and occasional weekend events when required., • This position follows the school calendar, with 2 months off during the summer. Duties & Responsibilities: • Patrol school facilities and grounds to prevent access to restricted areas, theft, or vandalism, often taking up to 10,000 steps each shift, • Incident Management and verbal de-escalation, • Monitors flow of traffic during pickup hours, • Stands for up to four hours per day, • Act as First responder for emergencies, • Stands post at secondary locations as required, • Identify and report suspicious activity, • Completes daily activity reports and incident reports as required, • Access Control Basic Qualifications: • Minimum 3 years of Security experience working in a school environment, or have experience as a Sworn Police Officer, Military, or Corrections Officer, • High School Diploma or GED, • Obtains required clearances for working in school, • Ability to complete all required training to work in schools, • Reliable means of communication (active cell phone with mobile email access), • Ability to comprehend and utilize the English Language (verbal and written), • Reliable means of transportation Benefits: • Paid Mandatory Training, • Accrued sick time, • Employee referral program, • Employee Recognition Program, • 401K eligibility after six months of employment To ensure Cardinal Point’s commitment to a safe and drug-free work environment, employees are required to successfully complete State and Federal criminal background checks and may be subject to random drug testing.
