Officers serve as a visible deterrent to illegal or unsafe activity and may provide supervision for at-risk patients. Roles may be unarmed or armed depending on assignment and qualifications. Responsibilities Key Responsibilities • Maintain the safety and security of hospital property and occupants, • Provide excellent customer service and assistance to patients, visitors, and staff, • Respond to incidents, emergencies, and safety concerns professionally and calmly, • Support at-risk patient supervision as required, • Uphold Tarian policies, client expectations, and community values, • Perform other job-related duties as assigned Qualifications Qualifications – All Candidates Education & Experience • Must have valid Guard Card, • High school diploma or GED required, • Ability to obtain and maintain all required licenses or certifications, • Strong communication and customer service skills, • Ability to read, write, speak, and comprehend English, • Ability to follow written and verbal instructions, • Basic computer skills (email, Word, Excel; ability to learn security systems), • Ability to work effectively with diverse populations, • Ability to stand and/or walk for an entire shift, • Ability to lift/move objects (up to 80 lbs. in some situations) or assist in restraining/lifting a person, • Strong vision abilities including color, peripheral, depth perception, and focus, • Minimum 21 years of age, • Ability to obtain and maintain all applicable armed security licenses and permits, • Successful completion of Tarian-approved firearms training (initial and semi-annual), • Demonstrated working knowledge of Tarian Firearms Policies, • Law Enforcement, • Military Police, • Correctional Officer, • Police Academy completion For applicable roles, previous employment must be verified through our background vendor.
