Job DescriptionTrusts & Estates Litigation Attorney Trusts & Estates Litigation Attorney Position Overview We are seeking a Trusts & Estates Litigation Attorney to handle contested probate and fiduciary disputes, provide strategic litigation representation, and support clients through all phases of trusts and estates litigation. The attorney will manage caseloads involving wills, trusts, estate administration disputes, contested probates, and related petitions and motions, while producing high-quality legal research, drafting, and courtroom advocacy to achieve favorable client outcomes. Key Responsibilities • Manage a litigation docket of trusts and estates matters, including contested probates, fiduciary disputes, will and trust contests, and related adversary proceedings., • Evaluate cases, develop litigation strategy, and advise clients on risks, options, and settlement alternatives in estate and trust disputes., • Draft and file pleadings, petitions, petitions for probate, objections, motions, briefs, discovery requests and responses, and settlement agreements., • Conduct legal research on trust and probate law, fiduciary duties, statutory and case law, and procedural issues; synthesize findings into memos and persuasive court filings., • Prepare for and represent clients at hearings, trials, mediations, arbitrations, and depositions; present evidence and examine witnesses effectively., • Handle discovery and case management, including document review, witness interviews, deposition strategies, and coordination with experts., • Collaborate with estate planning attorneys to review and interpret estate planning documents, and advise on potential litigation risks and drafting improvements., • Work closely with paralegals and junior attorneys; supervise and mentor staff and delegate tasks to ensure efficient case progression., • Maintain client communications, manage expectations, and ensure timely updates and billing compliance., • Juris Doctor (JD) from an accredited law school and active admission to the WSBA., • 3+ years of experience in trusts & estates litigation, probate contests, and fiduciary disputes; mid- to senior-level candidates., • Proven experience drafting petitions, motions, briefs, objections, and other dispositive and procedural documents in probate and trust litigation., • Strong courtroom experience, including hearings, trials, depositions, and settlement negotiations; experience with contested probates and petitions required., • Hands-on experience with wills, trusts, estate planning documents, and interpretation of fiduciary duties., • Excellent legal research and writing skills; ability to craft persuasive legal arguments and clear client communications., • Demonstrated ability to manage complex caseloads, supervise junior staff, and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment., • Solid negotiation and dispute resolution skills; experience with mediation and settlement strategy is a plus., • High ethical standards, strong client-service orientation, and professional demeanor., • Medical, dental, vision, • Life insurance, • Matching 401(k) contribution up to 4% of your voluntary contribution, • Fully paid transit pass or parking subsidy, • Paid time off (PTO), • Objective and subjective monthly and annual bonuses. - For this position, you must be currently authorized to work in the United States without the need for sponsorship for a non-immigrant visa.
