Job Description Butterfly Staffing will be hiring an experienced LPSO to oversee marine species monitoring for an upcoming federal waterfront construction project. The LPSO will supervise a team of PSOs, conduct data collection, and ensure compliance with MMPA and project-specific environmental plans. Responsibilities: * Lead training and supervision of Protected Species Observers (PSOs). * Ensure compliance with all environmental regulations. * Monitor in-water activities and maintain detailed observation logs. * Coordinate shutdown procedures during marine mammal sightings. Qualifications: * Prior PSO or marine biologist experience on similar projects. * Degree in biology, marine science, or related field preferred. * Must complete NAVFAC-led PSO training prior to project start.
