American Traveler is seeking a travel nurse RN ICU - Intensive Care Unit for a travel nursing job in Downey, California. Job Description & Requirements • Specialty: ICU - Intensive Care Unit, • Discipline: RN, • Start Date: 11/17/2025, • Duration: 13 weeks, • 36 hours per week, • Shift: 12 hours, nights, • Work in the ICU/CCU of a hospital setting, • Night shift schedule (3x12 hours, 19:00-07:30), • Must work every other weekend, • May float to DOU, Telemetry, or Med Tele units as needed, • Care for patients with multi-system organ failure, cardiac issues, strokes, and ventilator needs, • Required use of specialized equipment such as FloTrac/Vigileo, ventilators, and Arctic Sun for hypothermia protocol, • Responsibilities include care of ventilated and critical care patients, management of lines, frequent phlebotomy, wound and drain care, and procedural sedation administration, • Training modules are required prior to start and will be tracked via transcripts, • First two weeks of the contract do not allow for time off; no more than 3 days of RTO will be approved per contract, • Holiday coverage is required, • Return staff eligibility is reviewed on a case-by-case basis, • Local candidates are accepted at the same rate\n \n Requirements\n, • Active CA RN license required at time of consideration, • Minimum 3 years of ICU nursing experience required, • Certifications required: ACLS, BLS, CPI, MAB or VIP, and NIHSS, • Experience with ventilator management, interpretation and management of dysrhythmias, arterial and central line care, and titration of cardiac and vasoactive drips, • Must be skilled in blood product administration, IV insulin protocols, 12-lead EKGs, and management of CVA/acute stroke patients, • Ability to perform infection prevention and isolation precautions using PPE, • Professional references must be provided upon request\n Benefits\n, • High Pay and Bonuses, • Medical, Dental and Vision Insurance with Day 1 Options, • 401(k) Plan, • Weekly Payroll Deposit, • Free Online CEUs, • Generous Housing Allowance, • Travel and Licensure Reimbursements, • Non-taxed Per Diem and Subsidy With thousands of travel nursing and allied jobs nationwide, our attentive and approachable recruiters find positions that align perfectly with your career aspirations and personal requirements.
