Job DescriptionJob Title: MechanicJob Description The Mechanic will perform highly diversified maintenance duties to install, troubleshoot, repair, and maintain production machinery, pumping equipment, and plant systems. This role supports a heavy industrial environment involving hydraulic, pneumatic, and mechanical equipment, including pumps, gearboxes, valves, conveyors, and material‑handling systems. The mechanic will perform emergency and scheduled repairs, preventive maintenance, and equipment adjustments to ensure safe, reliable, and efficient plant operations. This position requires strong mechanical troubleshooting skills, the ability to read equipment manuals and work orders, and hands‑on experience using hand tools, power tools, meters, and material‑handling equipment. The mechanic will also assist with plumbing, carpentry, and general facility maintenance as needed while maintaining a clean, safe, and compliant work environment. Schedule & Pay • Pay: $27/hr, • Schedule: Monday–Saturday, • Shift Pattern: 2 days on, 1 day off, 2 days on, 1 day off (rotating within Mon–Sat), • Hours: Either 5 AM–5 PM or 5 PM–5 AM, depending on operational needs and ship unloading schedules, • Overtime: Frequent and often mandatoryResponsibilities, • Perform diversified duties to install, maintain, and repair production machinery, pumping systems, and plant equipment., • Provide emergency and scheduled maintenance repairs during production and machine service windows., • Troubleshoot and repair mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, and hydraulic systems, including pumps, gearboxes, valves, and related components., • Read and interpret equipment manuals, diagrams, and work orders to perform required maintenance and service., • Diagnose issues, replace or repair parts, test equipment, and make necessary adjustments., • Perform regular preventive maintenance on machinery, equipment, and facility systems., • Complete basic machinist, plumbing, and carpentry tasks as needed., • Use hand tools, power tools, electric meters, and material‑handling equipment safely and effectively., • Identify faulty operations or defective materials and report issues to management., • Maintain clean, safe, and orderly work areas in compliance with safety regulations., • Perform other duties or assignments as required.Essential Skills, • Mechanical troubleshooting, • Hydraulics and pneumatics, • Pump and gearbox repair, • Preventive maintenance, • Ability to read manuals, diagrams, and work orders Job Type & Location This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Tampa, FL.
