Position Overview The Automotive Center Service Writer serves as the key point of contact between customers and the shop team, ensuring a seamless service experience from start to finish. Youll greet customers, assess their vehicle service needs, and present maintenance and repair recommendations in a clear, professional manner. This role involves coordinating repair orders, maintaining communication between customers and technicians, and managing shop operations to ensure timely, high-quality service. The ideal candidate is organized, personable, detail-oriented, and skilled in both customer service and sales. Key Responsibilities • Greet customers professionally and assess service and repair needs, • Communicate clearly about maintenance recommendations and repair options, • Prepare accurate estimates, work orders, and invoices using the shops POS system, • Coordinate with technicians to ensure efficient workflow and quality control, • Maintain inventory control and order parts as needed, • Monitor profit margins and help achieve sales and productivity goals, • Conduct follow-up calls to ensure customer satisfaction and build lasting relationships, • Generate new business by calling on local commercial accounts and fleet customers, • Maintain a clean, organized, and professional front office area, • Mentor less experienced team members and promote a collaborative team cultureSchedule, • Monday through Friday no weekends, • Occasional overtime may be availableQualifications, • High School Diploma or equivalent required, • 3+ years of sales or customer service experience in an automotive repair or service environment preferred, • Knowledge of fleet accounts and aftermarket warranty companies is a plus, • Section 609 Certification (EPA) preferred or willingness to obtain, • Strong communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills, • Ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment, • Must be at least 18 years old with a valid state drivers license and clean driving record If youre ready to take your automotive service career to the next level and work in a shop that values skill, integrity, and teamwork, apply today!
