Role: Bartender Invitation: To make a difference by loving people with food and drinks. You’ll be responsible for creating a welcoming bar atmosphere while you serve and interact with guests, mix and serve alcoholic and non-alcoholic drinks as well as food. Specific Functions and Duties: • Mixes ingredients such as liquor, soda, water, and fruit juice to prepare alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages (30%*)., • Interacts verbally with all bar guests creating a friendly and upbeat atmosphere (20%*)., • Serves food and drinks to all bar guests (15%*)., • Completes assigned opening and closing side work (15%*)., • Slices fruit and vegetable garnishes for drinks (5%*)., • Presents guest checks to bar patrons. Makes correct change and/or completes any necessary charge card transactions (5%*)., • Processes employee and/or manager food orders (5%*)., • A desire to care for others, grow, and learn., • A positive attitude., • Able to operate blenders, frozen drink machines and other bar equipment., • Stands during the entire shift., • Frequent immersion of hands in water every five minutes., • Ability to wipe down table tops, table legs, pick up debris off floor and wipe down booth seats in all areas of the restaurant., • Transports glass racks cases up to 25 pounds (such as a case of beer) up to 15 times per shift. There are physical demands that come with this role. To be successful in this role you’ll be regularly required to 1) navigate throughout the restaurant and communicate with guests, 2) move and grasp items up to five pounds, 3) occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds, 4) bend and stoop. You must have adequate vision to be able to discern cleanliness throughout the restaurant and operate a touchscreen. Radisson Cedar Rapids is actively seeking a talented full-time Bartender to bring energy and hospitality to our Lobby Bar. We're looking for someone who truly understands the art of bartending-creating memorable experiences and genuine connections with every guest. What's exciting about this role? • Work in our stylish Lobby Bar five nights a week., • Be part of shaping the future of our bar as the hotel undergoes an exciting renovation. Essential Duties and Responsibilities • Provides exceptional guest service and ensures all guest inquires and concerns are addressed promptly, • Prepares condiments for appropriate garnishment of beverages, • Presents appropriate menus and informs guests of current specials and promotions, • Verifies age requirements are met for purchase of alcohol as needed, • Prepares beverages according to standard operating procedures, • Operates restaurant and bar related equipment including the cash register, point of sale system and telephone, • Maintains updated knowledge related to current menu options, preparation methods and techniques, and ingredients, • Operates three compartment sinks or dish tank for cleaning glassware, • Maintains hand soap and hand towels at hand wash stations, • Processes payment transactions following established procedures, • Identifies when a customer has reached his/her alcohol consumption limit, • Stocks and maintains beer, wine, and liquor inventories to ensure efficient operations, • Assists in monitoring and upholding policies and procedures for safety of guests and team members, • Assists in maintaining cleanliness throughout the department, • Assists team members and other departments as needed to contribute to operational efficiency, • Performs additional responsibilities as assigned by leadership Qualifications • Must meet minimum age requirement as defined by state law, • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, • Ability to handle stressful situations with poise and professionalism, • Conduct work-related functions in a professional manner
