Job DescriptionJob Title: Maintenance Mechanic Job Description This position is dedicated to maintaining building operations and ensuring the facilities remain safe and functional. The maintenance mechanic will be responsible for diagnosing and troubleshooting equipment and systems during both factory runtime and downtime. Responsibilities • Diagnose and troubleshoot equipment and systems during factory runtime and downtime, making adjustments as necessary., • Respond to unplanned work orders to restore equipment to production safely and quickly., • Ensure complete and timely closeout of unplanned work orders with detailed descriptions of problems, actions taken, and any required follow-ups., • Inspect equipment for wear, metal fatigue, and damage., • Rebuild and fabricate parts and equipment., • Promote a 'Continuous Improvement' culture by continuously reducing faults., • Perform assigned preventive maintenance on equipment and systems., • Maintain standard operating conditions of equipment across the facility., • Repair and replace failed components and troubleshoot unknown equipment issues., • Adhere to current Good Manufacturing Practices (cGMPs)., • Troubleshoot programmable logic controllers (PLCs) hardware., • Read and interpret blueprints and basic to intermediate PLC ladder logic., • Utilize PC skills to plan and close work orders.Essential Skills, • Troubleshooting and maintenance of equipment., • Proficiency with pneumatics, preventive maintenance, and repairs., • Ability to troubleshoot processing and packaging equipment., • Experience with electrical motors and PLC troubleshooting., • Ability to read blueprints and schematics., • Knowledge of mechanical and hydraulic systems.Additional Skills & Qualifications, • A minimum of five years of experience in repairing and troubleshooting production equipment., • 2-5 years of experience as a maintenance mechanic in an industrial facility., • Knowledge of electrical systems with 480-volt 3 phase and 240-volt to 24-volt single phase systems., • Experience with variable frequency drives., • Welding skills., • Physical ability to perform necessary activities, including lifting up to 50 pounds., • Bilingual communication skills in Spanish are a plus.Why Work Here? Work Environment This role is based in a food manufacturing facility that adheres to strict Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP) guidelines. The dress code prohibits jewelry and makeup to maintain hygiene standards. Job Type & Location This is a Contract position based out of Piscataway, New Jersey. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $30.00 - $30.00/hr. Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
