At ING we are looking for MarTech Data Collection Engineer Your role and work environment: We are looking for a talented and enthusiastic MarTech Data Collection Engineer to join our Engagement Funnel Team of Customer Interactions Tribe and Brand Experience CoE The responsibility of this team is to implement a next gen Engagement funnel Platform stack, providing scalability and hyper-personalization to our customers, and our way of working is hybrid. We operate according to a Biz-Dev Ops development process and strongly believe in the Agile approach delivering IT solutions. The focus is on high-quality mission-critical target-oriented development with regular milestones. Feature delivery is driven by the priorities determined by the Business and Product Owners, working on a day-to-day basis with the IT organization. Your key responsibilities: As a MarTech Data Collection Engineer you will: Co-create innovative solutions with cross-functional teams to optimize marketing workflows and enhance customer engagement through advanced automation capabilities. Design and implement scalable tagging architectures and data‑collection components, leveraging Java and JavaScript to ensure accurate and reliable event tracking. Develop and maintain Java‑based services or utilities that support data collection, processing, and integration with analytics platforms. Configure, deploy, and validate client‑side and server‑side tags through enterprise tag management systems, ensuring high‑quality data capture across digital channels. Partner with Digital Analytics teams to translate measurement frameworks into robust tracking specifications, ensuring data accuracy and alignment with business KPIs. Ensure data integrity, system performance, and compliance throughout the migration process, while implementing best practices for scalability and future growth. Provide technical guidance, maintenance and support during implementation, testing, and post-migration phases. What are we looking for? Want to know if this job is made for you? The main challenges always addressed by our Digital Analytics & Tagging Engineer / MarTech Data Collection Engineer are: To succed in the role, you should have… • Consider the outcome of prioritization processes and related dependencies, • Coordination with other squads within ING, cross-domain, • Coordination with external data vendors, • Perform meaningful testing for several relevant goals, • Aim at improving time-to-market and added business value, • Implement new changes & deliver smart, • Be IT risk compliant, • Ability to express complex ideas about previous projects, • Commitment, ability, and aptitude for teamwork, • Agile mindset and experience working in cross-functional teams, • Engineering degree with a minimum of 5 years of experience, • Strong analytical, people management and communication skills, • Able to work in an autonomous way and to take initiative, • Loving to collaborate with different people, • Making things happen and ‘can do’ attitude, • DevOps and Agile culture, • Passionate Proven track record and technical skills Essential: • Strong experience with Java for front-end or backend data collection utilities, • Solid understanding of JavaScript, HTML, CSS, and browser behavior related to tagging and data collection., • Hands-on experience with tag management systems (e.g., Adobe Launch, Tealium, Google Tag Manager)., • Expertise in digital analytics platforms, • Familiarity with customer journey analytics, A/B testing tools, and personalization platforms, • Strong analytical mindset with attention to data accuracy and consistency., • Ability to communicate technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders., • CI/CD: Azure DevOps experience and/or other cloud environments Nice to have: • Experience with relational databases (Oracle) and SQL / PLSQL knowledge, • Unix scripting & Python experience, • Strong vendor experience with Testing (Unit, Integration, end-to-end, smoke), • ETL & Functional Knowledge What do we offer?
