About this role With offices in both Spain and the UK, we are looking to welcome an IT DevOps lead to guide the evolution of our hybrid and cloud infrastructure across Spain and the UK. In this position, you will define the DevOps strategy, lead a high-performing engineering team, and ensure our platforms are secure, scalable, and aligned with business goals. You will collaborate with Architecture, Engineering, and Security teams to modernize systems, optimize delivery processes, and introduce best-in-class technologies. Your mission As our IT DevOps Lead, you will spearhead the strategic direction, execution, and continuous evolution of our cloud and on-premises infrastructure. You will lead the DevOps team, ensuring our platforms are secure, scalable, resilient, and aligned with business objectives. Reporting directly to the Head of IT, you will act as the primary driver of DevOps culture across the organization—standardizing practices, shaping the technical roadmap, and enabling seamless collaboration between engineering, service operations, security, and product teams. Your leadership will directly influence how technology supports our enterprise ambitions and our ability to deliver world-class services to customers globally. Your mission is not only to build and run infrastructure, but to lead people, processes, and platforms toward operational excellence, engineering maturity, and business agility. What you'll do Design, implement, and operate cloud and hybrid architectures with high availability, scalability, performance, and security. Automate infrastructure operations using Infrastructure as Code practices to reduce manual tasks and increase reliability. Manage core services including Kubernetes clusters, CDNs, DNS, SSL certificate lifecycle, VPNs, firewalls, and authentication layers. Develop, evolve, and govern CI/CD pipelines and DevOps practices to accelerate delivery and improve deployment quality. Drive observability across platforms—standardizing logging, monitoring and alerting for proactive issue detection. Lead the implementation and execution of disaster recovery, business continuity, and backup strategies. Implement and monitor security controls, ensuring compliance with regulatory, audit, and internal security requirements. Optimize cloud and infrastructure spend, making data-driven decisions to balance performance and cost. Anticipate technology risks, define mitigation strategies, and ensure operational resilience. Lead, mentor, and develop DevOps engineers, fostering a collaborative, accountable, and innovative team environment. Promote knowledge sharing, technical excellence, and continuous learning through reviews, workshops, and coaching. Act as the point of escalation for critical incidents, providing calm leadership during outages and guiding postmortems. Partner with architecture, security, product, and engineering teams to ensure infrastructure decisions align with business objectives. Communicate technical concepts clearly and influence decision-making at senior levels with data, reasoning, and impact awareness. Shape the DevOps roadmap, identify future capabilities, and drive initiatives that modernize our technology landscape. What you'll bring Extensive experience designing and operating cloud infrastructures using AWS and/or Google Cloud. Strong background in cloud-native architectures, networking, security models, and hybrid deployments. Expert-level hands-on knowledge of IaC and automation tools such as Terraform. Deep understanding of CI/CD pipelines and experience with tools like Jenkins, Gitlab, or similar. Strong proficiency with Kubernetes and containerization, including observability stacks (Fluentd, Prometheus, Grafana). Solid scripting capabilities in Python, Bash, or similar languages for automation and systems integration. Proven capability to lead technical teams, set direction, mentor engineers, and elevate engineering practices. Demonstrated capacity to design resilient systems, reduce operational friction, and prevent incidents. Excellent communication skills in English, both written and verbal, with the ability to engage technical and non-technical audiences. A proactive, solution-oriented mindset—able to identify improvements, challenge assumptions constructively, and drive meaningful change. Relevant certifications (AWS/GCP Architect, Kubernetes, Security, FinOps) are an advantage.
