As an AV Pre-Sales Engineer, you will play a key role in shaping those solutions before they are sold. Working closely with our Business Development, Design, and Engineering teams, you will translate customer needs into clear, cost-effective, and deliverable AV solutions. You will support complex bids and opportunities, provide technical expertise throughout the pre-sales lifecycle, and help ensure a smooth transition from sale to delivery. This is a hands-on role suited to someone who enjoys combining technical expertise with commercial awareness and customer engagement. You will act as the technical authority within the sales process, ensuring the solutions we propose are robust, well defined, and ready to be delivered right first time. Requirements • Work closely with Commercial and Design teams to specify innovative and cost-effective AV solutions that meet customer requirements., • Conduct site surveys to capture technical, environmental, and operational requirements., • Produce clear and detailed Bills of Materials (BOMs) and supporting scopes of work for AV projects., • Prepare, maintain, and update technical quotations, particularly for complex or longer-term opportunities., • Review internal and third-party construction or technical drawings, coordinating AV requirements and constraints., • Support responses to tenders, RFQs, and bids by contributing technical expertise and solution detail., • Manage quotations, opportunities, and customer information accurately within CRM systems., • Provide pre-sales technical support including system configuration, equipment recommendations, and demonstrations where required., • Act as a trusted technical advisor throughout the pre-sales cycle, helping customers make informed decisions., • Lead or support technical handover meetings with Engineering teams once projects are awarded., • Work with Engineering teams to ensure proposed solutions are feasible, scalable, and aligned with delivery capability., • Collaborate with internal stakeholders to share insights on customer needs, product performance, and improvement opportunities., • Experience in AV pre-sales, AV design, engineering, or technical sales environments., • Strong technical understanding of AV systems including video and audio distribution, signal processing, DSPs, and display technologies., • Experience producing BOMs, pricing models, and technical documentation to support commercial proposals., • Strong commercial awareness with the ability to balance technical quality, cost, and deliverability., • Clear and confident communication skills, with the ability to explain technical concepts to non-technical audiences, contractors, and end clients., • Collaborative mindset with experience working across Business Development, Design, Engineering, and Operations teams., • Strong organisation and attention to detail, particularly in documentation and quotations., • Experience using design tools such as AutoCAD or Visio., • Proactive problem-solving approach in fast-moving environments., • AVIXA CTS certification (or willingness to work towards it)., • Full UK driving licence. In this role, you will achieve an exemplary record for health and safety for all activities onsite and ensure Installation, Commissioning and Onsite Programming activities are completed On Time, on budget and to the clients overall satisfaction. All work must be carried out in accordance with our clients' Quality Procedures evident through successful audits. As Senior Installer/ Site Supervisor, you will ensure the End Client and Project Manager are kept fully informed about progress, status, risks and issues on-site.
