Reporting to the National APCR Transport Manager, you will play a key role in supporting our mission to leave a better planet for future generations. You will be responsible for the safe, efficient, and compliant operation of our Bulk Powder Ash Tanker fleet, while leading and supporting your team and managing your designated areas of responsibility. You will also ensure full compliance with relevant legislation, company policies, and the Goods Vehicle Operator Licence, while effectively managing drivers and resources to deliver a safe, reliable, and high-quality service to our customers. Benefits • Pension Scheme, • Life Assurance, • Employee Assistance Programme, • Health Cash Plan, • Discounted Gym Membership, • Cycle to Work Scheme, • Mobile Phone Discounts, • 30 day's annual leave (inclusive of bank holiday), • Holiday Purchase Scheme, • Refer a Friend Scheme What will you do • Lead and support the team, promoting high standards of performance, engagement, accountability and development., • Coordinate daily with OCO Technology and EFWs to ensure collections are planned and completed on time., • Support recruitment, induction, training, probation and performance management to help employees succeed., • Manage driver hours, overtime, expenses, attendance and daily work schedules in line with company policy and legal requirements., • Promote a strong safety culture by ensuring accidents, training needs and follow-up actions are managed promptly and effectively., • Work closely with Fleet, Workshop and SHEQ teams to maintain safe, compliant and roadworthy vehicles and operations., • Maintain high standards of regulatory and FORS compliance, ensuring the operation is always inspection-ready and focused on continuous improvement. About you • GCSEs (or equivalent) or relevant operational experience., • Transport Manager Certificate of Professional Competence (CPC) is essential., • LGV Class 2 (Category C) licence would be beneficial., • Experience in waste management or a similar operational environment, including team leadership., • Strong communication, customer service, decision-making and problem-solving skills., • Proficient in Microsoft Office Packages, with good numerical and analytical skills., • Sound knowledge of health and safety, drivers' hours, operator licensing and employment legislation., • Strong geographical knowledge, or the ability to develop this quickly., • Full UK driving licence About Grundon Grundon is the UK's largest family-owned supplier of integrated waste management and environmental services.
