Project Manager - United Utilities / Civils A well-established National Tier 2 Civil Engineering Contractor is seeking an experienced Project Manager to join its North West division working on projects across the United Utilities & Cumbria region. The role will lead the successful delivery of a varied portfolio of United Utilities water infrastructure schemes across the region. Project Types Include: Shaft Sinking Micro Tunnelling & Trenchless Works Deep Drainage & Utilities Reinforced Concrete Structures Water & Wastewater Infrastructure Pumping Stations & Associated Civils Access Works & Site Infrastructure Role & Responsibilities: • Overall responsibility for the safe and successful delivery of multiple water infrastructure projects from pre-construction through to completion, • Managing site teams including Site Managers, Engineers, Foremen, Operatives, and specialist subcontractors, • Ensuring projects are delivered safely, on programme, within budget, and to required quality standards, • Developing and maintaining project programmes, resource plans, and cost controls, • Managing procurement of subcontractors, plant, labour, and materials, • Leading progress meetings with clients, supply chain partners, and internal stakeholders, • Implementing and enforcing Health, Safety, Environmental & Quality procedures across all sites, • Reviewing RAMS, construction methodologies, and temporary works requirements, • Producing and presenting regular progress reports, forecasts, and commercial updates, • Building strong working relationships with United Utilities representatives and key stakeholders, • Driving performance, productivity, and continuous improvement across the project portfolio Candidate Requirements: • Proven experience as a Project Manager on Civil Engineering or Water Infrastructure projects, • Strong background in shaft sinking, micro tunnelling, deep drainage, and reinforced concrete structures, • Experience working on United Utilities or similar water authority frameworks is highly desirable, • SMSTS, • CSCS Black Card, • Strong commercial awareness with experience managing budgets and programmes, • Excellent leadership, communication, and stakeholder management skills, • Ability to manage multiple sites across the North West region, • Full UK Driving Licence What’s on Offer: Competitive salary of £70,000 – £80,000 (DOE) Company car or car allowance Pension, holiday allowance, and attractive company package Long-term career opportunity with a stable and growing contractor Exposure to major Water Infrastructure and specialist Civil Engineering projects
