As a Head of Finance you will be responsible for overseeing all financial planning, budgeting, reporting, and compliance activities, managing financial risk, and supporting informed decision-making at the executive level. Strategic Financial Leadership • Lead the financial strategy, ensuring alignment with the organisation’s vision, goals, and risk appetite., • Serve as a trusted advisor to the MD & senior leadership team on financial and business performance, as well as long-term planning., • Oversee all financial planning, analysis, and reporting processes with a focus on accuracy, insight, and strategic value., • Ensure full compliance with financial regulations, corporate governance, tax obligations, and risk management standards., • Continuously improve financial systems, controls, and processes to ensure efficiency, scalability, and audit-readiness., • Working closely with IT to fully embed Oracle NetSuite and continue the development of new finance systems and processes to improve data integrity and drive continuous improvement, • Build, mentor, and lead a high-performing finance team, fostering a culture of accountability, curiosity, and continuous development., • Identify and nurture future leaders within the team through coaching, feedback, and stretch opportunities., • Model strong ethical leadership and integrity in all financial dealings., • Set clear expectations and cultivate a culture of high performance, innovation, and excellence., • Leading the short-term cashflow forecasting and working capital management for the business., • Oversee budgeting, forecasting, and financial performance analysis to support decision-making at all levels., • Lead commercial analysis, business case evaluations, and investment appraisals. What are we looking for: • Visionary leadership with strong stakeholder engagement and the ability to inspire and align diverse teams., • Fully qualified accountant (e.g. ACA, ACCA, CIMA) with strong technical, business partnering & commercial foundations, • Strong commercial and strategic thinking with hands-on detail orientated financial expertise., • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills; able to influence at all levels., • Experience in change management and commitment to continuous learning, innovation, and operational excellence., • Experience of working in a business requiring disciplined cashflow management., • Able to build and lead high performing teams and proven ability to lead through change and foster a culture of empowerment and accountability., • Proficient in financial systems and ERP platforms (e.g., SAP, NetSuite, Oracle)., • Ability to work in a dynamic, fast-paced, entrepreneurial business. Our client, based in Coventry, is currently recruiting for a Corporate Credit Manager on a permanent contract. The position is due to start as soon as possible, dependent on notice and the salary available is £45,000 - £50,000. This is a hybrid position with travel to the office required two days per week and our client is proud to offer some great benefits including a generous company car scheme, 25 days annual leave and an annual bonus. Duties will include (but are not limited to): • Reviewing financial statements, credit reports, and payment history to evaluate the risk of extending credit to new or existing customers, • Establishing and enforcing credit limits for new and existing customers within agreed mandates, • Annually managing and reviewing all corporate customers to ensure compliance with credit policies, • Preparing and finalising credit dossiers for submission to higher level approvers such as Credit Committees at local and HQ levels, • Working with other business areas such as Sales and Finance to produce detailed credit dossiers, • Chairperson for the weekly corporate underwriting meeting involving other stakeholders in the business such as sales director, head of direct sales, head of indirect sales, • Ensuring Credit Underwriting Guidelines are followed including KYC and AML, • Monitor and manage credit limits and exposures to minimise risk while supporting business growth Skills, knowledge and expertise required: • 3+ years’ corporate credit evaluation role, with a personal mandate to approve credit limits ideally in automotive or consumer finance, • Corporate credit management or a similar financial role, with commercial credit underwriting experience preferred, • Familiarity with UK/FCA regulations and best practices in credit-risk management Rewards and benefits: • 26 days annual leave plus bank holidays, • Hybrid working (2 days per week in the office), • Company car scheme, • Generous pension contribution, • Annual bonus Working hours: • 37.5 hours per week, • Monday – Friday, 9am-5pm Please note that you require recent experience to apply for this role.
