\n GCP Data Architect \n Job Reference Number: PG1 \n Our client, a leading global supplier for IT services, requires an experienced GCP Data Architect to be based at their client's office in Bristol, UK \n This is a hybrid role - you can work remotely in the UK and attend the Bristol office 2 days per week. \n This is a 8 month temporary contract to start ASAP \n Day rate: Competitive Market rate \n The Role: \n The GCP Solution Architect/Data Architect plays a critical role in designing, governing, and delivering enterprise-scale data and cloud solutions across finance transformation programmes. This hybrid position combines strategic solution architecture with hands-on data architecture expertise to enable resilient, scalable, and cost-effective data platforms. The role ensures alignment with enterprise standards, supports quarterly planning, and guides engineering teams through iterative delivery cycles. \n Key Responsibilities: \n Solution Architecture \n\n • Lead end-to-end architecture design for cloud-native data solutions on GCP.\n, • Shape architectural direction, ensuring alignment with security, data governance, and compliance standards.\n, • Drive iterative design practices, influencing product owners, engineering teams, and cross-platform stakeholders.\n, • Develop architectural roadmaps supporting quarterly planning cycles and long-term finance transformation goals.\n\n Data Architecture \n\n • Design conceptual, logical, and physical data models for financial, regulatory, and operational datasets.\n, • Define ingestion, transformation, storage, and consumption patterns.\n, • Establish principles for metadata, lineage, reference data, and data stewardship.\n, • Collaborate with SMEs to translate business requirements into scalable data models.\n\n GCP Engineering Alignment \n\n • Architect solutions using GCP services such as BigQuery, Cloud Storage, Dataflow, Pub/Sub, Composer, Cloud Functions, and IAM.\n, • Design cost-optimized workloads and implement best practices for performance and scalability.\n, • Support engineering teams with reusable patterns, blueprint architectures, and cloud engineering guidance.\n\n Collaboration & Governance \n\n • Work with CTO architects, data platform teams, and transformation leads to influence platform decisions.\n, • Participate in architecture boards, design forums, and technical governance committees.\n, • Clearly articulate technical decisions and direction to non-technical and senior stakeholders.\n\n Key Requirements \n\n • Strong expertise in GCP architecture (BigQuery, Dataflow, Pub/Sub, IAM, Composer).\n, • Proven experience designing complex, cross-team, enterprise-scale solutions.\n, • Advanced data modelling (3NF, Data Vault, dimensional modelling).\n, • Deep understanding of metadata, lineage, data governance, and reference data frameworks.\n, • Strong experience with finance data flows-ledger, MI, reconciliation, and reporting.\n, • Ability to lead engineering teams and drive architectural consistency.\n\n Qualifications \n\n • Google Professional Cloud Architect (PCA) - preferred.\n, • Google Professional Data Engineer (PDE) - preferred.\n, • TOGAF or equivalent enterprise architecture certification - desirable.\n\n Desirable: \n\n • Knowledge of CI/CD pipelines (Cloud Build, GitHub Actions, Jenkins).\n, • Infrastructure as Code using Terraform.\n, • Familiarity with data quality and lineage tools.\n, • Understanding of hybrid and multi-cloud patterns.\n, • Strong communication, negotiation, and stakeholder management skills.\n\n Due to the volume of applications received, unfortunately we cannot respond to everyone \n If you do not hear back from us within 7 days of sending your application, please assume that you have not been successful on this occasion. \n Please do keep an eye on our website
