Job Title: Design Technician Location: Colchester Contract: Permanent We are currently recruiting for a rapidly expanding renewable energy company which develops, designs, constructs and maintains renewable energy solutions. Their work is is primarily ground mount and rooftop solar and Battery Storage Systems. As a Design Technician you will be working on a variety of exciting renewable projects, from commercial & industrial rooftop projects to large scale ground mount solar farms and Battery Storage Systems. The main role will be to assist with the preparation of design / planning documentation. The role responsibilities for a Design Technician would be: • Comfortable to operate well under pressure, while proactively uses their own initiative and take responsibility for their own work., • To work within a sociable team environment to prepare feasibility and conceptual site layouts and to follow a process through to full detailed and technical design drawings and documentation for various solar rooftop and ground mount projects., • To prepare Single Line Diagrams and PVSyst reports., • To manage design projects from feasibility to handover drawings, ensuring all work is carried out precisely, efficiently and within set timescales., • Attend and participate in team meetings as and when required., • Willing to undertake roles as their career develops The ideal candidate for the Design Technician role would have: • Experience with AutoCAD and has had training, • Basic PVsyst experience, • Basic helioscope experience, • Minimum of 1-year onsite experience, • Enthusiastic about renewable energy and the impact it is having on society, • Due to location of premises and work involved, the candidate must hold a driving licence., • Keen to learn new skills, • Knowledge of Solar industry products, • Knowledge of PV Case, • Have an understanding about solar development, • Good communication, numeracy, and computer skills, • Have an excellent eye for design / detail, • The ability and enthusiasm to meet deadlines, • Good problem-solving skills, • Uses own initiative to take on responsibility For more information on this role, please contact Juls Bujalska on 01453 852541 or send a copy of your CV to Omega Resource Group is an employment agency specialising in opportunities at all levels within the Engineering, Aerospace, Automotive, Electronics, Defence, Scientific, Oil & Gas, Construction and Manufacturing sectors.
