We are seeking a Cook with a Food Hygeine Certificate Level 2 or above, to support the Head Cook in the planning, preparation and service of meals that are both nutritionally balanced and nourishing for the residents. Assistant Cook Duties and Responsibilities Build positive relationships with residents, understanding their preferences, and maintain a flexible, supportive approach to daily tasks and special events Deputise for the Head Cook when required, supporting high standards of food quality, safety, hygiene and kitchen cleanliness Prepare and serve meals that respect residents’ dietary needs, allergies, medical conditions and personal preferences, ensuring mealtimes are enjoyable and dignified Work in line with the company’s values of Commitment, Connection and Compassion in all aspects of the role Stay up to date with best practices in cooking, reheating and food safety, ensuring all kitchen processes meet regulatory and company standards Maintain accurate kitchen records, monitor stock levels, and ensure ingredients are available to deliver weekly menus Keep all food preparation and cooking areas clean, tidy and compliant with hygiene regulations; audit kitchen cleanliness and support the team as needed Follow Health & Safety procedures, including fire safety awareness and correct use of fire blankets and extinguishers Assist the Head Cook in creating seasonal menus with input from residents, families and senior staff, ensuring meals meet individual needs Support budgeting and ordering in the Head Cook’s absence, and participate in training to stay current with legislation and best practice Am I the right person for this Cook job? • Experience and understanding of managing a budget within company expectations., • Hold a Food Hygiene Certificate Level 2 or above
