Principal Consultant (Freelance Creative) at Salt I am working with a global beauty client who are looking for a resource manager to work within their VM division. Starting ASAP for 4/5 months with potential to extend further. Hybrid working 3 days in the office 2 days WFH. The client is looking for candidates open to an FTC as well as a day rate (please note on a day rate you would be required to go through an Umbrella company as the role would be within IR35) Huge plus if you have a background in premium beauty/retail and have used the PM software Wrike. Job Description: The client is looking for a proactive Resource & planning manager to join their retail design and development center team in the UK & Ireland. In this key role, you will manage and optimise the resources required to deliver exceptional store design and visual merchandising (VM) projects across our brand portfolio. You will collaborate with the team to ensure efficient resource allocation, smart scheduling, and timely delivery of high-impact projects. As the Resource & Planning Manager, you will work closely with cross-functional teams, including Project Managers, Store Designers, VM Designers, and external partners, to drive the successful delivery of store design and VM initiatives, ensuring that projects are aligned with business objectives and brand strategies. You will play a pivotal role in resource management, ensuring that the right talent is allocated at the right time to optimise the performance of our teams. Key Responsibilities Resource Management: Support the RDDC team by coordinating and managing the resource requirements for store design and VM projects. This includes managing in-house teams, freelancers, and external agencies where necessary. Forecasting & Planning: Lead all areas of forecasting and planning, developing schedules that align with business needs, brand marketing calendars, and strategic priorities. Demand vs. Capacity Management: Implement and improve demand vs. capacity planning to optimise resource allocation, ensuring efficiency and effective project delivery. Software Management: Ensure that project management system, Wrike, is kept up to date with accurate date and run required reports for management team Scheduling & Programming: Proactively programme resources based on project timelines, adjusting for peak periods and ensuring that the team’s workload is balanced to meet deadlines. Leave Management: Manage and programme all leave requests, ensuring that staffing levels remain adequate and that project delivery is not disrupted. Documentation & Tracking: Maintain accurate documentation for marketing calendars, forecasting trackers, and project workflows, ensuring visibility and alignment with project goals. Budget Management: Work with the Head of Creative Operations to manage additional budget requests for resources, ensuring that necessary support is brought in to meet project demands. Process Improvement: Collaborate with the RDDC team to streamline processes and enhance operational efficiencies, focusing on continuous improvement and smart solutions. Collaboration & Communication: Regularly update and collaborate with the Creative Operations team, ensuring tasks are allocated according to the plan and addressing any deviations from the schedule. Change Management: Manage project changes, delays, and resource adjustments throughout the project lifecycle, providing solutions and communicating changes effectively to all stakeholders. Commercial Awareness: Maintain an understanding of how resource management decisions impact project timelines, costs, and overall success, ensuring that commercial considerations are factored into all decisions. Risk & Issue Management: Identify, document, and communicate potential risks and issues early in the project lifecycle, proactively managing them to mitigate any negative impact. Problem Solving & Flexibility: Take a creative, solution-oriented approach to problem-solving, remaining adaptable and focused on both details and the overall project vision. Efficiency Improvements: Continuously assess and refine resource management processes, identifying opportunities to increase productivity, optimise workflows, and improve team performance. Skills & Qualifications Experience: 3-5 years of experience in resource planning, project management, or a similar role within the creative, retail, or design sectors. Project Management: Strong understanding of project management principles with a proven track record of managing resources and delivering projects on time and within budget. Analytical & Strategic Thinking: Ability to forecast, monitor, and optimise resource allocation based on business needs and strategic goals. Communication Skills: Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively across teams and communicate complex issues clearly. Problem-Solving: Creative approach to problem-solving with the ability to focus on both details and the bigger picture, identifying solutions that drive efficiency and success. Time Management: Strong organisational skills and the ability to juggle multiple projects and deadlines with precision and efficiency. Tech Savvy: Proficiency in project management software and advanced Excel skills for tracking and managing resources. Adaptability: Flexible in approach to process and change, with the ability to quickly pivot and implement solutions in a dynamic environment.
