You’re someone who prefers being out on site rather than behind a desk, and you’re comfortable working in environments like construction, demolition, or industrial settings. Early starts, travel, and changing locations don’t put you off – in fact, you enjoy the variety and the sense of purpose that comes with hands‑on work. You take safety seriously and understand the importance of following procedures properly. Working to strict rules, method statements and risk assessments feels natural to you, and you don’t cut corners. You’re calm, focused and able to stay composed even in regulated environments where inspections, audits or oversight are part of the job. You’re practical by nature and learn best by doing. Repetition and routine don’t bother you – you see them as part of building consistency and getting things right every time. You’re comfortable using equipment, following technical processes, and working in PPE or RPE for extended periods when required. You can work independently once trained, taking responsibility for your tasks, but you also communicate clearly with teammates and supervisors to make sure work is completed safely and correctly. You’re motivated by doing work that matters – contributing to environmental safety, compliance and protecting public health. You value clear expectations, stability and progression. You’re interested in building a long‑term career, developing your skills step by step and moving forward into roles such as surveyor or analyst over time. Start your career as an asbestos site technician and gain hands‑on experience supporting essential surveying, air monitoring and inspection work in real‑world environments. As part of this Level 3 Asbestos Site Technician apprenticeship, you’ll learn how to carry out asbestos surveys, air monitoring and clearance activities, applying recognised industry methods to produce accurate, compliant and legally defensible results. Over 12 months, you’ll combine day‑to‑day experience in your role with structured training delivered by expert tutors at Tiro. Our blended learning approach includes a mix of online sessions, in‑person training and hands‑on support, alongside guidance from a dedicated mentor in the workplace. You’ll spend at least 6 hours per week on off‑the‑job training, including virtual learning, practical activities and applied assignments. As part of your training, you’ll also work towards the RSPH Level 3 Award in Asbestos Air Monitoring and Clearance Procedures, a recognised qualification within the asbestos industry. This apprenticeship will help you build the skills and experience needed to start your career as an asbestos site technician and progress within the asbestos management industry. Through hands‑on training, you’ll develop the competence and confidence to carry out asbestos surveys, air monitoring and clearance testing in line with regulatory requirements. You’ll work in safety‑critical environments, following strict compliance standards and contributing to protecting people, property and the wider environment. This programme can also lead to professional recognition, such as becoming a Registered Science Technician (RSciTech).
