2nd/3rd Line Infrastructure Engineer What’s in it for you? Broad infrastructure exposure | Work alongside senior engineers | Involvement in projects and improvements | Develop cloud, networking and security skills | Structured, enterprise IT environment Must have’s • Minimum 4+ years’ experience in a 2nd Line (or above) support environment, • Strong troubleshooting and analytical skills, • Good knowledge of server administration, networking and Microsoft cloud platforms, • Experience with virtualisation (VMware or Hyper-V), • Understanding of security fundamentals (patching, endpoint protection, access control), • Experience working within ITIL-style processes (incident, request, change management), • Ability to communicate technical issues to non-technical users Nice to have’s • Experience with Microsoft Azure, Defender, Entra ID, Intune, Exchange Online, SharePoint, • Exposure to Fortinet (FortiGate, FortiSwitch, FortiAP etc.), • Experience with Veeam Backup & Replication, • Knowledge of Linux, SQL or automation tools, • Experience with HaloITSM, NinjaOne or Confluence, • Relevant certifications (Microsoft, VMware, CompTIA etc.) So what will you be doing? Infrastructure Operations • Supporting day-to-day IT infrastructure including servers, storage, networking and cloud platforms, • Performing system health checks and reporting issues, • Acting as an escalation point for complex service desk tickets, • Troubleshooting and resolving technical issues, • Applying patching, security configurations and access controls, • Supporting compliance frameworks including ISO 27001, GDPR and Cyber Essentials, • Supporting LAN, WAN and Wi-Fi environments, • Assisting with configuration of switches, firewalls and network devices, • Supporting Azure and virtual environments under senior guidance, • Provisioning systems using approved build standards, • Supporting backup systems and disaster recovery solutions, • Participating in failover testing and documenting results, • Working with internal teams and global IT functions, • Supporting vendor interactions and providing technical input, • Installing and maintaining hardware and software, • Ensuring systems are patched and up to date, • Identifying opportunities for improvement and automation, • Opportunity to contribute to infrastructure projects (implementation, testing, documentation), • Exposure to a wide range of technologies including:, • Azure, VMware ESXi, Active Directory, DNS, Fortinet, Veeam, Windows Server & Windows 11, • Ideal for someone looking to grow further into infrastructure and cloud engineering Personal’ also means making recruitment fair.
