Having a good sense of humour and resilience, and a willingness to help residents with their personal hygiene are also important. What you will be doing You will join an inclusive, supportive team that works well together to provide care to people with learning disabilities and mental health conditions. Working alongside a multidisciplinary team, you will use your excellent communication skills and experience as a Team Leader with a background in Learning Disabilities & Autism to provide care and support people through their care pathway. It can be quite a challenging environment at times, so a positive attitude, compassion, resilience and vigilance are important. But it is hugely rewarding to see people improve because of you; being able to do something today that they couldn’t do last week. You will be working on a 3-week rolling rota with a mixture of late and early shifts. There are a mixture of shift lengths from 7.5 hour to 8.5 hours (including weekends). As a Team Leader you will have: Hold experience as a Team Leader with a background in Learning Disabilities & Autism Ideally have or working towards NVQ 3 in Health & Social Care Hold a valid UK driving licence (preferred to assist with community visits) Have strong empathy and a caring and compassionate nature Be willing to support residents with personal hygiene Have excellent people and communication skills, and a good sense of humour Deal with challenging behaviours Have a positive and professional approach Be reliable, flexible, hard-working and honest Be local or within commutable distance You must live in the UK and have the Right to Work in the UK full time. 20-hour Student and Skilled Worker Visa's cannot be accepted. Where you will be working: Location: 1a Upper Brighton Road, Surbiton, Surrey, KT6 6LQ 1a Upper Brighton Road is a nine bed, mixed gender community-based home. The people who are supported at 1a Upper Brighton Road have severe learning disabilities, autism and behaviours which, due to their diagnosis may be seen as challenging. Residents may also have profound and multiple communication difficulties, sensory impairments and physical health problems. People may come to 1a Upper Brighton Road as part of their care pathway, either moving on from their residential school placement or moving from their community placement or the family home because they require more structured care and support. The service is staffed 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, by a dedicated team made up of the Registered Manager and Support Workers. All residents are registered with the local GP which allows access to specialist clinicians. Our aim is to provide a home in the heart of the local community, which promotes social inclusion through meaningful community engagement. Residents are supported to develop social networks and engage in a range of activities to live purposeful lives. We ensure residents are able to access all the facilities and resources they wish to, whilst keeping safe and having choice and control. The engineering team is divided into four regional UK teams. Each team has a Team Leader, who will be your direct line manager; ultimately, the teams report to the UK Direct Delivery Manager. Your role will be to assist in providing maintenance for the client’s service stations, generally within a 90-minute drive from your home. Job Description You will be employed in a multi-task role with a core skill set/trade as a Fridge/AC engineer, specifically delivering on the contract. The Shell retail network includes display and backup refrigeration units (generally under 10 years old, gas charge under 5kg). Units mostly consist of two display units running from a single remote condenser. Some larger stores have small pack inverter-driven units. All stores have at least one integral refrigeration unit (backup or display). Air conditioning systems are usually 12kW split systems with ceiling-mounted cassette units. Normal working shift is 40 hours split over 5 shifts from 8:00 to 16:30 (half-hour meal break to be taken on shift) Monday to Friday. Work outside of these hours will be paid at an enhanced rate with prior agreement by VINCI management.
