The Winter Night Communal Setting will run for eight months from the end of October to the end of June with various churches contributing in different ways. Each venue will offer individualised companionship and support whilst the guests (re)engage with St Mungos and Westminster Council pursue Council-directed solutions for the short term and explore long term housing solutions. Guests will initially be assessed by St Mungos as low risk (without mental health or addiction issues) but may be high need and will then be referred to the Communal Setting. For example they may have a complex immigration status be waiting for the outcome of an asylum appeal or they may have been offered government support elsewhere in the UK or at another time but failed to engage with it due to language cultural or community barriers.
