Our client is a rapidly growing business designing some of the most innovative and interesting applications for the marine industry. Senior Electrical Design Engineer (contract) Outside IR35 Marine applications 6 month contract Immediate start Responsibilities: System Design and Integration: • Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including mechanical, software, and systems engineers, to integrate electrical systems into the overall design., • Design and layout electrical systems, encompassing power distribution, wiring harnesses, connectors, control modules, and charging systems., • Ensure all electrical designs comply with industry standards and safety regulations. Prototyping and Testing: • Work closely with testing teams to conduct functional, performance, and safety tests on electrical systems., • Diagnose and resolve any issues that arise during testing phases. Documentation and Reporting: • Develop detailed documentation, including schematics, wiring diagrams, and technical reports related to electrical design., • Effectively communicate design concepts and findings to team members, management, and stakeholders. Qualifications and Experience: • Degree in Electrical or Mechatronics Engineering, or a minimum of 5 years of industry experience with an apprenticeship qualification., • Proficiency in CAD software for electrical design (e.g., AutoCAD or similar)., • Experience with 3D CAD systems (e.g., Inventor) is advantageous but not essential., • Familiarity with CAN Bus systems., • Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail., • Strong communication and teamwork abilities., • Experience in preparing and submitting detailed design specifications for high-value projects., • Proactive, self-motivated, and committed to excellence., • Willingness to embrace innovation and creativity; lateral thinking is encouraged., • Experience in testing and commissioning electrical systems. Working Hours: • Monday to Friday 9am – 5pm, or flexibility such as 7.30am – 4pm • Site based work, can work all 40 hours in 4 days on site and have a long weekend, • No remote working Candidates must be able to obtain BPSS clearance and should have the right to work in the UK.
