Transport Planner / Coordinator \n Location: Corby, Market Harborough, Northamptonshire \n Salary: £30,000 - £33,000 per annum depending on experience \n Job Type: Permanent, Full-time \n \n The Opportunity \n An established transport and logistics business is looking for an organised and proactive Transport Planner / Coordinator to join its operation in Corby. \n \n This position will focus on planning and coordinating transport activity for a dedicated customer contract, giving you direct ownership of its daily operation. You will ensure deliveries are planned efficiently, drivers and vehicles are utilised effectively, and the customer receives a reliable and responsive service. \n \n Key Responsibilities: \n\n • Plan daily transport operations for a dedicated customer contract.\n, • Allocate drivers and vehicles efficiently across scheduled deliveries and collections.\n, • Produce practical and cost-effective route plans.\n, • Monitor transport activity throughout the day and respond to delays or operational changes.\n, • Communicate regularly with drivers, customers and internal departments.\n, • Provide customers with accurate updates regarding delivery times and potential issues.\n, • Ensure all work is planned in line with drivers’ hours, Working Time Directive and transport legislation.\n, • Manage delivery paperwork, PODs and transport documentation.\n, • Update the transport management system with accurate planning information.\n, • Resolve problems quickly to protect service levels and minimise disruption.\n, • Support the wider transport team when required.\n\n \n What We’re Looking For: \n\n • Previous experience within transport planning, fleet coordination or a similar logistics role.\n, • Experience planning an HGV fleet is strongly preferred.\n, • A good understanding of drivers’ hours and transport compliance.\n, • Strong communication and problem-solving skills.\n, • The ability to remain calm and make decisions in a busy transport environment.\n, • Good geographical knowledge and route-planning ability.\n, • Confident IT skills and experience using transport planning or fleet management systems.\n, • A reliable, organised and customer-focused approach.\n\n \n What’s on Offer: \n\n • Salary of approximately £33,000 per annum.\n, • A permanent position with a long-established transport and logistics business.\n, • Ownership of the planning operation for a dedicated customer contract.\n, • The opportunity to work within an experienced and supportive transport team.\n, • A varied role with responsibility for both planning and service performance.\n\n \n If you are an experienced Transport Planner looking for a position where you can take ownership of a dedicated contract, we would be keen to hear from you. \n \n Apply today with an up-to-date copy of your CV.
