This role is at the heart of the Defence Nuclear Enterprise and provides the opportunity to support Enterprise-level decision-making across DNEs Government Major Projects Portfolio, which spans more than 50 years of delivery. Your role will be Enterprise Analytics and Insight Head, and you will report to the Enterprise Analytics and Insight (EA&I) Deputy Director and work collaboratively with the EA&I Planning & Strategic Analysis Head, within the EA&I area of the Enterprise Portfolio Team (EPT). You will work in a fast paced and impactful team that work together to strengthen and evolve the DNEs analytical capability, providing expert advice, support and challenge. This is an exciting opportunity to join the Enterprise Portfolio Team (EPT) operating within the DNE. As the Head of Enterprise Analytics and Insight, you will strengthen and evolve our enterprise analytical capability across the DNE, undertake strategic analysis and develop evidence-based portfolio insight to increase confidence in our interdependent portfolio of portfolios, informing and enabling effective senior leadership decision-making. In this role you will provide inclusive leadership of a team of specialists responsible for evidence based portfolio insights, providing data driven analysis and strategic insight through a range of techniques, translating data analysis into meaningful strategic insights, innovative recommendations and interventions, which can be effectively and digestibly communicated to senior leaders to inform their decision-making and enable optimal outcomes for the DNE. You will lead a culture of quality assurance, ensuring the analytics and insights developed adhere to the relevant codes of practice, standards and frameworks, producing high quality outputs and outcomes that are fit for purpose. You will cultivate and manage a range of relationships with internal and external stakeholders and facilitate collaborative working across organisational boundaries of the DNE. You will work collaboratively with your EPT colleagues to ensure understanding of interdependencies within the EPT and coherence with the EPT strategic objectives and outputs. Key Responsibilities: • Lead enterprise data driven analytics, translating outputs for senior leaders into strategic insights to inform and optimise enterprise decision making., • Clearly communicate the results of analysis and explain difficult analytical concepts simply to non-expert audiences, including senior stakeholders internally and externally, to secure buy-in and support., • Lead the management of the demand for enterprise analysis and insight from within the EPT, and across the DNE, through a clear and transparent manner to ensure the right priority analysis is conducted., • Oversee routine and bespoke scenario modelling to support balance of investment and capability decisions., • Ensure that clear quality assurance policies and processes are followed consistently in the production of data, evidence and analysis from your team., • Understand that it may be necessary to provide quick answers using incomplete evidence, data or analysis and deliver a response balanced between the need for accuracy and a timely response., • Work collaboratively with a range of stakeholders across the DNE, wider Defence and wider government to shape and drive effective and aligned aggregation and integration of portfolio and sub-portfolio data to enable data analysis and insight., • Identify, draw upon and work collaboratively with pan-enterprise cross-functional capability to deliver the optimised output., • Ensure appropriate delegation of tasks to those you line manage, driving and enabling a culture of learning and development., • Champion Diversity, Equity & Inclusion (DE&I) across everything you do within your role. Person specification This is an excellent opportunity for a strategic leader with experience in analytics and insight, and project delivery. The ideal candidate will have the following: Essential Qualifications: • Previous experience of project and/or programme delivery and portfolio management (e.g., experience working in a portfolio office)., • Experience of complex portfolio and sub-portfolio data analysis and insights, including reporting to senior leaders to inform decision-making., • Must be a team player and have a proven track record of complex stakeholder management, collaborative working and engagement with senior leaders, with the ability to influence, change and impact decisions through those relationships to influence decision makers., • Advanced Microsoft 365, • Government Project Delivery Accreditation, • Knowledge and experience of Defence, or applicable experience in a similar sector., • Experience preferably aligned to Government Project Delivery Profession or Association of Project Management frameworks., • Experience preferably aligned to the government analysis function framework., • Experience of working in a cross-government initiatives.
