About The Business Unit We help conceive, drive, and implement transport solutions for cities, regions, and asset owners/operators around the globe. Overview Of The Role We are seeking a qualified and enthusiastic Project Principal/Director with experience in highways engineering, to join our Transport and Mobility Solutions (TMS) team. You will play a pivotal role in the delivery of high-profile highways projects and developing further opportunities with our key clients, such as National Highways, local authority clients, and contractors. Benefits As a Project Principal/Director, you will be accountable for the successful delivery of Highways projects or frameworks from inception to completion for the client and for Mott MacDonald. This means delivering the project scope and the expected project benefits, within the cost and schedule constraints by: • Ensuring project controls, commercial arrangements and resources are available and adequate for the scale of the project, • Monitoring project performance and initiating project reviews where required Champion client requirements, ensuring the team delivers on expectations and address any major issues, • Mentor and support the project manager(s) and team, fostering a culture of continuous improvement, • Engage with clients to gather feedback and identify new opportunities for collaboration and growth Candidate specification Essential • Professionally qualified with a recognised engineering institution or extensive experience managing complex highways projects or frameworks in a principal or director capacity, • Proven ability to build and lead high-performing teams, with a strong focus on quality and client satisfaction, • Experience in preparing fee proposals, contributing to business development, and building client relationships, particularly with government clients, local authorities and contractors, • Experience in the establishment of tender budgets and prices and monitoring of budgets throughout delivery, • This is a senior role in the region and you will be a proven leader of people as well as projects acting as an exemplar for others, • Skilled in managing budgets and invoicing, • Confident communicator, able to engage with staff and clients, • Due to the nature of our work, flexibility to travel to client sites or alternative offices when required (including extended periods of time) Desirable • Degree in Civil Engineering (or a related subject), • Project management qualification, • Experience of managing highways projects/frameworks through the full lifecycle, including design and build or contractor-led design projects UK Immigration Mott MacDonald Ltd. are not currently offering sponsorship to candidates under the Skilled Worker visa route in the UK.
