Veterinary Surgeon Onsite Location: Cheltenham Contract: Part Time, (Flexible to suit) Practice Type: First opinion Competitive Salary | up to £60,000 (DOE) (FTE) Our full time vets work 4 days a week, to but several of the team already enjoy a 3 day week, plus equally shared weekends and oncall. Part time we can consider 1 or 2 days a week, or mornings only, with a share of saturdays and backup oncall. We would also consider saturday only rotas. Your journey starts here. We are a modern practice with a wide range of facilities giving you the tools you need to deliver outstanding care. We pride ourselves on our friendly and collaborative environment where everyone is supported in providing the best possible care to animals. Alongside our facilities and specialist equipment, our friendly and experienced veterinary team are dedicated to providing the highest quality of veterinary care, surgery and treatment – along with regular check-ups and routine procedures. Stow veterinary surgeons has been serving the surrounding area for over 200 years. Our purpose built premises in Stow on the wold was opened in 2001. Here we have 4 consult rooms, 3 wards, 2 theatres and separate dental and imaging rooms along with a spacious reception and prep room. We also have 4 branches which are a consult and reception room only, in the lovely nearby villages of Burford, Northleach, Milton under Wychwood and Moreton in the Marsh. We have dental xray and bronchoscope endoscope and laproscope equipment, along with digital xray and contempary ultrasound. We have a team of 6 part time receptionists and 2 practice administrators; 8 care assistants and 6 nurses; 8 vets and a groomer. We do our own out of hours for which we have a care assistant on site, a nurse and vet oncall from home, and a senior vet for backup, not all roles require out of hours. We share the shifts so most weeks a vet would spend a day on theatre, a day on consults, and a day on branch consults, visiting one village in the morning and one village in the afternoon. About you: We're looking for a Veterinary Surgeon to join our team. When you join our team, you'll receive: This position would suit an experienced small animal vet, preferably with a minimum of 2+ years' experience. The role involves primary care OOH consultations, receiving member practice case transfers, inpatient care, medical work ups and surgery. A strong medical knowledge is required and experience in routine and emergency surgery.
