Founded in 1984, our client deliver solutions for mechanical, electrical, fire and electronic security systems. They are a UK engineer contracting company with the headquarters in Cardiff, Wales. They design and install fire alarms, security systems, sprinkler systems and other products required within an office environment. They employ around 120 people including a team of about 60 engineers across the country including Northern Ireland and deliver services to over 500 commercial, industrial, blue light and 3 rd sector organisations. Following a period of growth having won new bids and with various projects on the horizon they are increasing their recruitment drive. Due to winning a new contract with Somerset Council to provide 24-hour call-out across their portfolio, they are now specifically seeking a Fire and Security Engineer to cover the Somerset area. The Engineer will manage a schedule of planned maintenance across a given month which will be managed for them by the office team, and reactive call-out services. Key requirements: Engineers will need to be nationally vetted and as a minimum requirement have an advanced DBS check. This will be undertaken when the candidate is onboarded. The successful candidate must possess a valid, UK driving licence. They must have fire experience (access control and CCTV experience is desirable). Engineers must be able to carry out weekly/ monthly checks, and undertake full annual services and ideally have experience of using testing equipment. Candidates must be: Personable and professional. Technically-minded Be willing to take ownership of the role and designated jobs. Be able to use their own initiative An honest and transparent approach to work. Team set-up: there is currently an Engineer covering the Somerset area, therefore, the successful candidate will be mentored by them for a period of time. Training: full training is provided involving attending the Cardiff office for an induction, mentoring by a fellow-engineer, systems training. Training/team meetings beyond the initial induction will preferably be undertaking remotely to make the best-use of the individuals time. Benefits: branded, fitted-out company van which the candidate is welcome to use for personal usage too, 23 days annual leave plus bank holidays and a minimum of 4 days paid annual leave over Christmas (the business shuts down over Christmas), access to free counselling and medical advice, health club membership (Cardiff-based). Employees are expected to provide one weeks notice for 1 day off, and one months notice for a week or more. The company offer a very supportive and flexible working environment. Salary: £31k to £37k (depending on level of experience/possibly negotiable for the right candidate). On-call will be around 1 week in 5 i.e. full 7-day week (however, the business are currently looking to restructure the on-call so they have more than 1 engineer on-call at a time). The on-call rate is £90 per week and time and a half for travel and the hours worked whilst on-call. There are opportunities to undertake overtime. Hours of work: Monday to Friday, 40 hours per week (between 7:30 am and 4:30 pm). Engineers are not paid for the first 30 mins of their travel time in the mornings. They are expected to be onsite at 8am (but this is flexible if not working within an hour of their home address). Theres no Saturday, Sunday or Bank Holiday working, unless they are on-call. When on-call an engineer will be paid 1.5 rate for any travel time and hours worked in addition to the £90 per week on- call rate. Key Responsibilities · To manage the day-to-day running of all aspects of the home including; the standards and quality of care, recruitment and training issues, communication with the team, the premises of the Care Home and financial matters. · To recognise and assess individuals’ needs, involving relevant professional agencies and relatives where needed, in order to formulate personalised care plans for each individual. · To provide the highest level of personal care and attention to Residents, following individual care plans carefully and ensuring all contact is polite, friendly, warm and supportive. · Responsible for understanding and complying with statutory and legal requirements relevant throughout the home. · Follow residents’ individual care plans, to administer medication to Residents as prescribed, accurately maintaining appropriate records for both. Responsible for ordering, checking in and stock control of Residents’ prescribed medication and maintaining systems to ensure effective stock management of all products. · To be an active and encouraging Manager, establish and maintain effective means of communication and good relationships with all stakeholders both internal and external. · Responsible for the recruitment of suitable team members, effective inductions and CIS standards take place, training needs for the team are identified and met. To carry out regular supervisions, assessments, lead team meetings, ensuring the Care Home is a friendly and supportive environment. · Responsible for organisation of the team including; arranging rotas, ensuring adequate team members are employed, managing team absence. · Responsible for controlling and monitoring the budget and expenditure of the Home, preparing monthly cash flow reports for the Directors and accurately recording all financial information. · To support residents with their personal financial arrangements, maintaining confidentiality of all information. · Responsible for the marketing, promotion and sales for the Home. · To deal with all prospective Residents including; providing relevant information and guided tours, assessing new Residents and negotiating appropriate fees. To welcome new Residents, complete appropriate records and paperwork and ensure adequate arrangements are made for every Resident.
