Customs Bureau is looking for a talented Interior Designer to join our London studio. We are a design-led interiors studio creating distinctive hospitality and lifestyle experiences around the world. Our work is conceptually driven and rooted in narrative, place and brand, with a particular focus on atmosphere, materiality, custom furniture and the details that shape how a space feels. Led by Founder and Creative Director Shida Salehi, Customs Bureau works as a close-knit studio where ideas are developed collaboratively and designers are encouraged to contribute, experiment and develop their own creative voice. We are looking for an emerging designer with a strong visual eye, excellent 3D skills and a genuine interest in luxury hospitality and design. Someone curious, proactive and excited by the process of turning an idea into a compelling spatial experience. The Role Working closely with our senior design team, you will be involved in projects from early concept development through design and delivery. This is a hands-on role with the opportunity to learn across all aspects of the design process while making a meaningful contribution to live international hospitality projects. Key Responsibilities • Contribute to concept development, research and visual storytelling, • Explore ideas through SketchUp, 3D modelling, sketching and image making, • Support space planning and the development of spatial concepts, • Create mood boards, material palettes and design presentations, • Research and develop furniture, lighting, finishes and FF&E, • Assist with the design of bespoke furniture, millwork and architectural elements, • Develop drawings and documentation alongside senior designers, • Source materials, finishes and samples, • Help prepare client presentations and design reviews, • Support the team through design development and project delivery We Are Looking For Someone Who Has • 2+ years of professional interior design experience, ideally within hospitality, high-end residential or F&B, • A degree in Interior Design, Interior Architecture, Architecture or a related design discipline, • A portfolio demonstrating strong design thinking, visual sensibility and spatial ability, • Strong SketchUp and 3D modelling skills, • Proficiency in AutoCAD and Adobe Creative Suite, particularly InDesign and Photoshop, • An interest in materials, furniture, art, craft and contemporary design, • Rhino, Enscape, Revit or additional visualisation skills are an advantage, • Strong visual and verbal communication skills, • Curiosity, initiative and an openness to learning We are interested in designers who notice things.
