Caravan Southbank, London Overall earnings from £46,000-£50,000 per year, plus bonus scheme Full time This November, we're opening our tenth, and biggest, Caravan at the Southbank. And we're looking for an exceptional Assistant General Manager to help lead our restaurant team. We're after someone kind, confident and genuinely passionate about what they do. Someone who knows how to lead and inspire a team, is passionate about being a hospitality leader, and gets a kick out of helping their team develop and give their guests the best experience possible You'll be joining Caravan as we open a special new restaurant, with two floors, multiple bars and plenty of opportunity to make your mark from day one. The role As Assistant General Manager, you'll work alongside your General Manager and the management team to make sure the day-to-day operation of the business runs brilliantly every day. That means setting the standard for health & safety, culture, hospitality and developing the team around you to make sure every guest that leaves the restaurant has the best experience possible. You'll know how to lead from the front, when to coach and when to jump in and help get things moving. What you'll be doing as Assistant General Manager • Ensure our food, drink, and service standards are consistently delivered, • Recruit, onboard and develop confident, high-performing teams: making sure new hires feel welcome and everyone has clear training, reviews and development plans, • Drive sales, labour, GP, and wastage targets while protecting the Caravan culture, • Manage systems including Fourth, Harri and All Gravy to oversee the rota, payroll and compliance, • Maintain property standards, health & safety, and compliance with EHO/Food Alert, • Contribute to management meetings, audits, and action plans Why Caravan? This role is not suitable for applicants with no dog-handling experience or whose experience is limited to their own/family/friends’ dogs. Dog walking is a unique responsibility that requires confidence, practical handling skills, and the ability to safely manage unfamiliar dogs in different environments. As you will be responsible for clients’ pets without their owners present, previous professional experience working with other people’s dogs is essential. London Pet Club is looking for an experienced, reliable and professional Dog Walker and Pet Sitter to join our growing team. We are seeking someone looking for a long-term opportunity who can commit to working with us for a minimum of 6 months (or longer). This role is ideal for someone who enjoys working outdoors, has excellent dog handling skills, thrives working independently, and takes pride in providing exceptional care and customer service. ABOUT THE ROLE You will be responsible for providing professional dog walking and pet sitting services for our clients across London. Dog walks involve collecting dogs on foot. Some dogs are exercised on lead, while others are walked off lead. Pet sitting assignments may include daytime visits, overnight stays and weekend bookings in clients' homes. As our services are based around our clients' schedules, applicants must be available Monday-Friday between 7am-2pm. Occasional evening, weekend and overnight pet sitting assignments may also be available. You must own or have access to a bike (personal or rental such as Forest), and be a confident cyclist, as you will be expected to cycle between each booking within the area. You must also have an iPhone, as it’s more compatible with our pet-care app. AREAS WE COVER Your main working area: Paddington, Notting Hill, Chiswick, Holland Park You may also occasionally work in: Camden, Regent's Park, Islington, Hampstead, Tufnell Park, Finsbury Park, Walthamstow. HOURS Up to 12 hours a week PAY Dog walking: £13 per hour/completed walk (not per dog) Paid monthly upon receipt of a valid invoice Pet sitting: 1-3 hours: £13 per hour 4+ hours or overnight sitting: £40 per day/night ESSENTIAL REQUIREMENTS Applicants must: -Be aged 21 or over -Have professional dog handling experience -Be confident walking dogs both on and off lead -Have experience working with dogs of different breeds, sizes and temperaments -Be physically fit and capable of walking for up to 2 hours -Be self-employed (or willing to register as self-employed) -Be able to commit to a minimum of 6 months -Be available Monday-Friday between 7am and 2pm -Be available for occasional evenings, weekends and overnight pet sitting -Be a non-smoker -Be an iPhone user with sufficient mobile data -Have excellent communication, customer service and problem-solving skills -Enjoy working outdoors in all weather conditions -Not be a student LEGAL AND COMPLIANCE REQUIREMENTS The following must be obtained during the trial period (at the applicant's expense): -Proof of identity and right to work in the UK -DBS check -Public Liability insurance TRIAL ASSESSMENT Successful applicants will complete a 1-month trial period. During the trial you will be assessed on your ability to: -Independently walk up to 3 dogs together, both on and off lead -Safely handle dogs of different breeds, sizes and temperaments -Walk for up to 3 hours at a time -Manage dog behaviour and interactions confidently -Clean and dry dogs after walks where required -Feed and care for pets -Use GPS tracking and mobile applications to provide live client updates -Deliver a consistently high standard of customer service and professionalism PROFESSIONAL EXPERIENCE Please note that experience gained solely from caring for your own pets, or pets belonging to family or friends, will not be considered as professional experience. Applicants should be able to provide references from previous employers or established pet care businesses.
