SENDCO (Special Educational Needs and Disabilities Coordinator) • Location: Tower Hamlets, London, • Job Type: Maternity Leave Cover, Part-time (3-4 days a week) Day-to-day of the role: • Oversee the day-to-day operation of the school’s SEN policy., • Liaise with and advise fellow teachers on best practices for SEN., • Manage the SEN team of teaching assistants and support staff., • Coordinate provision for children with SEN, including developing and implementing individual education plans (IEPs)., • Monitor and evaluate the progress of pupils with SEN through regular assessments and reviews., • Work closely with parents/carers to ensure they are actively involved in their child’s education and support., • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) with a recognised SEN qualification or extensive experience in SEN., • Proven experience as a SENDCO or in a similar role within a primary school setting., • Strong understanding of the SEN code of practice and legislation., • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to work effectively with staff, parents, and external agencies., • Ability to lead, motivate, and manage a team., • Strong organisational skills and the ability to multitask.
