SEN Teaching Assistant - Primary School\n Location: TauntonStart Date: September 2026Hours: Monday to Friday, 8:30am - 3:30pmContract: Term Time OnlyPay: £14.25 - £16.68 per hour SEN Teaching Assistant Required in Weston-super-Mare\n Prospero Teaching is working in partnership with a welcoming and inclusive secondary school in Taunton that is seeking a dedicated SEN Teaching Assistant to join their team from September 2026. \n This rewarding role involves supporting pupils with Special Educational Needs (SEN) on a 1:1 basis and in small groups, helping them to access learning, develop confidence, and achieve their full potential within the classroom environment. The Role\n\n • Supporting pupils with a range of additional needs, including Autism (ASC), ADHD, Speech and Language needs, and SEMH.\n, • Delivering tailored interventions and learning activities under the direction of the class teacher and SENCO.\n, • Building positive relationships with pupils to encourage engagement and progress.\n, • Promoting inclusion and supporting pupils both academically and socially.\n, • Monitoring progress and providing feedback to teaching staff.\n, • Assisting with behaviour management and emotional regulation strategies where required.\nThe Ideal Candidate\n\n, • Previous experience working with children or young people with SEN.\n, • A patient, nurturing, and adaptable approach.\n, • Strong communication and relationship-building skills.\n, • Ability to work effectively as part of a team.\n, • Relevant qualifications are desirable but not essential.\n, • Experience within education, care, youth work, or support work backgrounds will be considered.\nWhat We Offer\n\n, • Competitive rates of pay between £14.25 and £16.68 per hour.\n, • Full-time position, Monday to Friday, 8:30am - 3:30pm.\n, • Term-time-only working pattern.\n, • Ongoing support from your dedicated Prospero Teaching consultant.\n, • Opportunities for professional development and training.\n, • Potential for the role to become long-term or permanent for the right candidate.\nEssential Requirements\n\n, • Right to Work in the UK.\n, • Enhanced Child Workforce DBS on the Update Service (or willingness to apply for one).\n, • Two professional references covering the last two years.\n\n If you are passionate about supporting children with additional needs and want to make a lasting difference in a Secondary school setting, we would love to hear from you. \n \n \n IND-TA
