Summary Line Leader – Shape Operational Success at Our Grimsby Seafood Site The Role Reporting into the Shift Leader and working with the Technical Shift Leader, liaising with other discipline expertise to deliver plans to achieve all manufacturing and product quality targets respecting all budgetary parameters within your defined Line / Area. The effective leadership of the Line / Area including the delivery of role-model behaviours and capable of tracking all key performance indicators through use of a balance dashboard. The management and mentoring of key personnel to enable all employees to understand the expectations of the Company and their legislative requirements. Your Key Responsibilities • Provide professional, values-led oversight of your line/area, exercising sound judgement and ensuring transparent, well-managed operations., • Act as a trusted advisor to Shift Leaders on all production, packing and distribution matters., • Use management information to prioritise production needs and support financial and operational targets., • Ensure MI is accurate, open and consistently reviewed., • Work collaboratively with wider teams, including other sites and HSE departments, to support delivery of line goals., • Apply financial discipline to all production activities to ensure value for money., • Lead by example in safe working practices and proactively report and address safety, health and environmental concerns., • Support site management with safety-related requests and participate in audits., • Coach colleagues and new starters on safety standards and procedures., • Conduct risk assessments with relevant teams and contribute to accident investigations and root-cause reviews., • Promote clean-as-you-go standards and good manufacturing practices across your line/area., • Coach colleagues and new starters on hygiene expectations., • Ensure machinery hygiene checks are completed correctly and promptly report defects., • Champion a strong food safety and quality culture on the line/area., • Coach colleagues and new starters on quality procedures and expectations., • Ensure machinery checks and paperwork (specifications, samples, etc.) are completed in line with company requirements., • Report food safety issues promptly and participate in contamination investigations and taste panels., • Cost & Performance, • Support product costing processes and provide costing information when required., • Monitor daily production targets and escalate issues that may affect performance., • Lead continuous improvement projects for your area, ensuring results align with safety and quality standards. The Ideal Candidate • 3+ years’ experience of management / Line Leading within a manufacturing operation., • Exposure to major UK retailers and short shelf life products would be an advantage., • An appreciation of different leadership styles, • Level 3 Food Hygiene, • HAACP, • Experience of CI / Lean / 6 Sigma or other CI methodologies, • Evidential competence in performance management, planning & prioritising, change management, problem solving, decision making, communicating with impact, customer awareness and commercial acumen., • Evidential competence in people management and development.
