ELECTRICAL ESTIMATOR Commercial & Industrial | Full-time, Permanent Location: Little Dunmow, Essex Salary: £45,000 £65,000, depending on experience Schedule: Monday to Friday, no weekends Start: ASAP interviews ongoing ABOUT THE COMPANY An established mechanical and electrical contractor based in Essex, delivering M&E solutions to clients across London and the South East. With more than 30 years of industry experience, the business is continuing to grow and is looking for an experienced Commercial & Industrial Electrical Estimator to join the team. THE ROLE This role is suited to an experienced Estimator who can manage electrical tender enquiries from initial review through to completed pricing, producing accurate and competitive estimates for commercial and industrial electrical projects. Accurate estimating is central to winning and delivering work, so you will play an important role in ensuring tenders are priced clearly, commercially and realistically, with the correct information gathered before submission. KEY RESPONSIBILITIES • Review and price electrical tender enquiries from start to completion, • Prepare clear and accurate estimates covering materials, labour and subcontractor costs, • Liaise with suppliers and subcontractors to obtain competitive quotations, • Work closely with clients to understand requirements and clarify project details, • Provide practical input on electrical systems and cost-effective solutions, • Support tender documentation with clear written communication and strong attention to detail, • Use estimating, office and general computer systems confidently, • Ensure enquiries are managed accurately and submitted within deadlinesWHAT WE'RE LOOKING FOR The successful candidate should have: • Proven experience in electrical estimating or tendering, • Ideally, experience within commercial and industrial projects, • Minimum 5 years' estimating or tendering experience, • Strong written English and the ability to produce clear tender-related communication, • Good computer literacy and general office software skills, • The ability to manage multiple enquiries accurately and to deadline, • A Diploma of Higher Education or equivalent qualificationPREFERRED EXPERIENCE, • Mechanical experience or wider M&E estimating exposure, • Experience working with clients, suppliers and subcontractors across London and the South East, • Strong understanding of commercial and industrial electrical systems and project requirementsTHE WORKING ENVIRONMENT You will work closely with clients, suppliers, subcontractors and internal colleagues to develop competitive and well-supported tender submissions. This is an office-based position, working from the company's office in Little Dunmow, Essex. Candidates should be able to commute to the office reliably or be willing to relocate.
