Job description We are a small firm of Chartered Accountants looking for a friendly, full-time accounts assistant. The successful candidate will have at least 2 years’ experience within a busy accountancy practice. You’ll have the following skills/experience: - Experience working within a busy accountancy practice of at least 2 years - Have Sage 50 experience of at least 2 years - Software Knowledge Xero, QuickBooks (advantageous but not essential) - Knowledge of accounting principles and practices - Be proficient in Microsoft Excel - Able to prepare accounts to TB stage - Preparing and submitting of VAT returns - Bank and ledger account reconciliation - Management accounts preparation - Knowledge of sole trader/Ltd Co accounts - Bespoke bookkeeping for several clients - The role will also include some audit/IE work and so a knowledge of this would be advantageous but not essential - Liaising with clients and HMRC - You will be required attend in house meetings with clients so a professional manner is essential You must: - Have efficient time management & the ability to prioritise your workload - Have good organisational skills, be accurate with your work and have excellent attention to detail skills - Understand confidentiality and GDPR - Be able to work independently but also able to work well as part of a team and be a team player - Have an excellent telephone manner, and have strong communication and interpersonal skills - Have strong analytical and problem-solving skills - Ability to work independently and meet deadlines but also able to work well as part of a team Others Skills useful to the role but are not essential as training will be given to the right candidate - - Have knowledge of prepayments and accruals - Able to prepare wage journals Other points: - 31 days holiday including statutory - Experience essential - Applicants with no CV or relevant experience will be rejected Job Type: Permanent with a probationary period of 3 months Pay: Starting at £25,753 If you do not have the required experience your application will be rejected.
