Lead IT Infrastructure Engineer Location: Yateley, Hampshire (On-site) Salary: £55,000 - £65,000 DOE Type: Full-time, Permanent About the Role As Lead IT Infrastructure Engineer, you will spearhead the design, implementation, and maintenance of critical IT infrastructure within a dynamic technology team. Your role includes strategic planning, hands-on engineering, and nurturing cross-functional collaboration to ensure high availability, scalability, and security of systems. You will lead and mentor a team of infrastructure engineers, support complex escalations, and drive continual service improvement. Key Responsibilities • Lead design and architecture of on-premises, cloud, and hybrid infrastructure solutions including servers, storage, virtualization, and networking., • Manage and maintain core infrastructure services (Windows/Linux servers, virtualization platforms, firewalls, disaster recovery)., • Deploy and administer cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP) and virtualization technologies (VMware, Hyper-V)., • Ensure 24/7 system availability, monitor performance, and contribute to disaster recovery and business continuity planning., • Implement infrastructure automation using tools like Terraform and Ansible., • Maintain monitoring and alerting systems such as Zabbix, Prometheus, or Nagios., • Enforce security best practices and support compliance audits (ISO 27001, CE+)., • Manage, supervise, and mentor infrastructure engineers, promote knowledge sharing and continuous improvement. Candidate Profile • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or equivalent experience., • 7+ years of experience in IT infrastructure engineering or systems administration., • Strong hands-on expertise with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, or GCP) and virtualization (VMware, Hyper-V)., • Proficiency in scripting and automation (PowerShell, Bash, Python)., • Familiarity with containerization technologies (Docker, Kubernetes) is an advantage., • Excellent problem-solving, communication, and documentation skills., • Proven experience in team leadership, project management, and high-pressure environments., • Sponsorship not available, candidate must be eligible for SC Clearance (5+ years UK Residency) What you get in return: • £55,000–£65,000 per annum + benefits (bonus scheme, pension, private healthcare, and more!), • Opportunities for professional development and certification support, • Exposure to modern cloud and automation technologies, • Collaborative environment focused on innovation, growth, and learning!
