Job Title: Special Needs Support Mentor Location: Farnborough, Surrey Salary: £101.40-£115.00 Contract Type: Full-time About the Role Milk Education are seeking a compassionate, resilient, and proactive Special Needs Support Mentor to join our team. You will play a vital role in supporting students with Special Educational Needs (SEN), helping them to access learning, build confidence, and develop essential life skills in a safe and inclusive environment. Key Responsibilities • Provide 1:1 and small group support to students with a range of needs (e.g. autism, ADHD, speech and language difficulties, SEMH), • Support students in accessing the curriculum and adapting learning materials where necessary, • Build positive, trusting relationships to encourage engagement and emotional wellbeing, • Implement individual education plans (IEPs) and behaviour support strategies, • Assist with classroom management and promote a calm, structured learning environment, • Support students with social, emotional, and behavioural development, • Work collaboratively with teachers, therapists, and external professionals, • Monitor student progress and provide feedback to teaching staff, • Support with personal care where required (if applicable) Key Skills & Experience • Experience working with children or young people with SEN (preferred but not essential), • Understanding of additional needs such as autism, ADHD, or SEMH, • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, • Patience, empathy, and a positive attitude, • Ability to remain calm and adaptable in challenging situations, • A genuine passion for supporting vulnerable learners Safeguarding Statement We are committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people.
